Been out of running for a few months, but getting back into it now. Motivation is tough sometimes, especially when it's cold out or trying to run after working all day.
I envy those of you where it comes so easily.

Who's running the MH1K next month?

Sounds horrible

It's really the worse.
Skin tight under layer keeps the loose shirt from rubbing. Bodyglide works too.

How about a health update? :)

After wearing the monitor for a month, rapid heart rate only occurred during times of exertion. Never happened while seated. So PSVT ruled out.

Primary Care doc drew blood and tested a whole bunch of things. He also reviewed my hospital stay records. Sent me a message a few hours later. Diagnosis is GERD and B12 deficiency.

Apparently GERD is a leading cause of all my other symptoms. B12 deficiency compounds my fatigue (and rapid heart rate).

Prilosec,  B12 supplement and a low acid diet.  Next four weeks kind of suck with the diet but I'm really happy that I don't have a heart condition.

Oh. And I ran at a casual pace with almost normal heart rate for me yesterday. Had to slow it down a bit for a few minutes.

That's the best part of the update.  Glad it's going better for you.

Ran the Groundhog 10k in 50:28 yesterday. I enjoy the underground running, felt nice.

Do you smoke?  i know cutting back on smoking/drinking has always cleared up any bout i've had with GERD.   Changing your diet and getting more regular exercise is the best medicine for GERD, but throw that list away, its mostly puritanical BS and not based on science (No mint gum? wtf)

Yes, I ran it as well. Interesting. A little like running in a parking garage, but a unique experience for sure.

Hey, do any of you runners use a GPS watch?
I'm starting to look at them and wondering what are the pros/cons. Looking at the Garmin Forerunner 225.

I used to use an old garmin gps watch. They're great. The only downside is I'd occasionally get OCD about time and distance and not focus on slowing down for the scheduled easier runs in my training. I'm looking at the same model.

If I can get a deal on Garmin stuff any reason I should consider the Suunto?
