Any saltwater aquarium experts?
« on: December 11, 2013, 02:33:50 PM »
Thinking about getting one put in. Something big.  Also want to know how to go about getting a baby dolphin or killer whale and what they eat.  Cat food?

Where do you get the water?

From the faucet. Put some of those dechlorinizing(sp?) drops in it then dump a bunch of sea salt(NOT TABLE SALT) in the aquarium.

use some water from the faucet and throw some table salt in there. some paprika and nutmeg if youre putting any redfish (one word, actual fish- not just any fish that is red. <--- pro saltwater fish expert lingo) will help them breath better (they have gills not lungs)

Setup a rain barrel to collect freshwater from your gutter.  Saves on the dechlorination chemical.  May want to give your city/county a buzz to make sure you don't have to get a permit, tho.

you can collect rain water for your own use, but you can't sell it.

if it gets a leak and all the water runs out you can put some rocks in it with either snakes or lizards or a combination of snakes and lizards.

EDIT: and turts. snakes, lizards and turts.

That sounds adorable.

Hey guys, I am looking to steal a salt water aquarium big enough for a harbor porpoise.  Anyone one know where I can do this?

Then add a couple bay leaves, some oregano, and a pinch of freshly ground black pepper.  Bring to a boil then turn the heat down to medium and let simmer for 45 minutes.  Chop and place into tortilla shells with the homemade cole slaw on top. Serve immediately.
