The wife and I sometimes fight over which is worse:  Carlos O'Kellys Mexican Grill or Applebees Neighborhood Grill.  A solid argument can be made for either one so we usually don't reach consensus.

I can generally find something that isn't garbage at Applebees.  Can't at Carlos.  Hate it when we are forced to go to either.

Unfortunately, family members on wifes side like garbage food, so we are always forced to go to Chilis, Applebees, etc.

Love Old Chicago though ;)

I would love nothing more than for Applebees to die in a fire.  Would rather stay home and eat PBJ by myself than go out to eat at Applebees with Inlaws.

I ate at a spanish restaurant in old town by the Warren last summer.  It was pretty good.  Wichita isn't a bad place to visit, really.

When?  What for?  Around where?  :runaway:
Leaving tonight.  Wifes family lives there, we visit often.  Near 21st and Tyler.

man, my wifes family lives there too. also visit often. near 29th and ridge.

Suburbs.  I don't go out there.  :gocho:  I guess just go to where the Lowe's and Applebee's are and see what looks good.  :dunno:

yeah. there are no good places to eat out in that area. wife's bro used to work at a place called cafe moderne as well as some other places around town, so i usually just ask him where to go or whatever. had some really good sandwiches from some place last time i was in town. do not like wichita.

OMG!  Just tried a place last night for the first time and it was AMAZING....very ashamed I hadn't been there before.

Swagger, at 85th and Wornall, next to Mike's Liquor.

At first glimpse, it's a total dive bar.  Their beer list rivals the big chains (flying saucer, Ale House, etc)...very impressive.  Their Scotch and Bourbon selections are better than Capital Grill.

Their food is awesome.  They have a rough ridin' tempura deep fried hamburger, for example.  Thursday's are steak night...typically at bars this spells disaster...but these dudes hand cut their own beef tenderloins into two inch filets.   :lick:

Couldn't have been more impressed....right down to the Charley burn-outs killing themselves on whiskey at the bar.
