say you could move yourself/your household anywhere right now. financially you are the same. you (and your spouse if applicable) have the same job at the same company. but geographically it's different. where would it be? is the job you have now the only thing stopping you from moving there now?

family is the biggest reason we don't/haven't moved yet. i mean, nobody really wants to live in oklahoma/kansas/nebraska on purpose, do they?

I would probably move to somewhere cheaper, like Denver or Austin or KC or Minneapolis if I could make the same money (not adjusted for location). I love my job so yeah it's keeping me here.

It would also be nice to be w/in driving distance of family because it gets old taking every vacation to Kansas or Arizona.

Good question SD. Assuming same job/commute/adjusted for cost of living.....

I would narrow it down to 3 choices.

1. Mountain Cabin- Maybe 5 miles outside of Dillon or some other similar sized Colorado town. Would also consider Montana or Idaho. I would spend all my free time doing tons of Skiing/hiking/fishing, maybe even cut some of my own firewood?

2. Small plot of land outside of KC or in the flint hills- Maybe like 60 acres? Must have at least 1 stocked farm pond and preferably back up to a river so I could do some river fishing.

3. Tampa Bay- I would need a house on the bay for fishing, jet-ski as well. Spend all year cruising around the bay on my jet-ski blaring some talking heads

Biggest thing for me I like about current location is proximity to family and friends. Can I transplant basically my entire world to this new locale?
