I try to avoid Taco Bell if I can. But if the gringo in me wins out or I'm just in a hurry and hungry in the Detroit airport or something, I bypass all of the above and just get a Crunchwrap Supreme (w/fire sauce - better make it a half dozen or more packets, and a Mr. Pibb - don't think they have Dr. Pepper).
Admittedly, I didn't read RD's description and parameters before I answered the poll. I answered "soft."
Soft tacos (with two corn tortillas if machine pressed or just one if hand pressed) are TRUE tacos mexicanos. Lettuce? Cheese? Nope. Top 'em with cilantro, onions (minched/diced), chile (the sauce, not the soup), and lime (MAYBE some pico de gallo and avocados). Or those pickled red onions if way down South in México or Central America.
My faves are tacos de pastor (but tripas, barbacoa, bistec, pollo - they're all good too; not big on brain tacos).
