AVL, you understand that if you sell tickets to games like Ole Miss for <$25 it's hard to justify charging $345+ for season tickets, right?

Tickets should be $50 and it should be sold out at that price.  There are only 6,000 tickets available when you don't count the students and suite and floor seats.

Here is the ticket I purchased.

The 20% and $5 transaction fee are not mentioned until after you sign up for the $25 membership.

I am glad that John Currie is trying to rip off our own supporters. :curse:

The details of your items are as follows:

Event: OLE MISS

Date: 12/05/13 8:00 PM

Number of items: 1

Item Locations:

    Sec. 17 Row 18 Seat 3

There use to be some gE elites about 10 rows down from those seats.

I can remember when I was a student and ordered Texas Bowl tickets from the ticket office. I wanted them shipped to my parents' house, and they charged me a shipping and handling fee at the ticket office. Then, when the tickets arrived, I had to go to the post office and pay postage because K-State didn't pay it. I called the ticket office and they refunded the shipping and handling. Maybe you can get your $25 back, avl.

Powercat Exchange is a huge ripoff and an embarrassment to the University!   Reply
The Athletic Department has designed a web exchange with the sole purpose of ripping off our own Season Ticket Holders and casual attendees.  The consequences of this are that the basketball team gets even less support than they should and harms the atmosphere in Bramlage.

If a Season Ticket holder puts a ticket online for a for price of $20, he is only going to get 90% of that back ($18).

The Consumer is required to have a $25 dollar membership (lasts for one athletic year).
The consumer is required to pay a $5 transaction fee.
The consumer is required to pay a 20% fee on the value of the ticket (in this case $4).

In actuality the consumer is paying $29 for a ticket and the season ticket holder is receiving $18.

That of course is excluding the membership fee of $25 (which of course makes the cost to the consumer much higher and prevents entry by users that are only going to a couple of games).

For an administration that says they want to fill Bramlage, they are not helping themselves out with this system!!!!!!!

You have to have cheaper tickets for most of the December Games or we are never going to even come close to filling the place up.

I suggest Alumni and Students send emails to  John "Hidden Fees" Currie and get this problem resolved.

P.S.

The baseball season ticket package is a pretty good deal.  $100 gets you Wichita State, Nebraska, Cal State Bakersfield, KU, OSU, Texas, Creighton, Air Force and some other games.

If you don't want to go thru Powercat exchange than just buy a ticket directly from the ticket office.  It is a shame but it is not sold out.

The people do not want to attend for $18 per ticket.

More people will show for $10 per ticket

Even more will show for $5 per ticket.

Our December ticket prices need to reflect the market value of them (which is probably closer to $5 for GA).

If we really want to make money just sell a couple thousand tickets to Lawrence and let them bring their band.

actually the fees are pretty hidden. They let you see the ticket prices as posted by the season ticket holder but do not factor in the $5 fee or 20% until you attempt to complete the purchase (after you have purchased your $25 membership).

Every transaction with this athletic department includes hidden fees. The only things that become public are players Western Union Receipts.

hey ARM!!!!

IT DOESN'T TELL YOU ABOUT THE FEES UNTIL YOU PURCHASE THE MEMBERSHIP AND ACTUALLY BUY THE TICKET!!!!!!

THAT IS THE DEFINITION OF A HIDDEN FEE.

sooooool......not really interesting anymore..... almost any ticket broker has essentially those same .....well what you call hidden fees ( but really arent because its explained to you before you eventually confirm the purchase)...i.e....service charges/shipping fees... why you are going on some juvenile tangent about how cheap you are is beyond me. Blame Currie if you must i guess. but seriously.....just really pointless and misguided post....

I still have $10,000 in student loans. I have other stuff I can spend money on. I am glad you guys can spend whatever amount you don't consider cheap.
I am still going to the game.
Some people still believe in principles (like not holding out on a 20% fee until after you buy the $25 dollar membership). The actually price is not posted on the site until you try to confirm purchase, which has to be done after buying the membership.
Some people want the stadium to be full or much more full. (Gopowercat has been whining about attendance for several weeks now)
I guess you guys agree with the Currie strategy of maximizing current revenue at the expense of the future of the program.

i have 5x more in student loans.....so dont wanna hear it.......you spend $10 a month to share your drivel here so OBVIOUSLY you arent quite the penny pncher or as destitiute as youd have us believe. this was a pointless and very lame attempt to try and badmoith Currie...

i tbink this another example of you needing to look at yourself in the mirror and ask "why am i the way i am" and then repeatedly punch yourself in the face.....no hidden fees with that one., completely free

You seem to be getting beaten up in this thread, but you are actually pretty correct. Though I do not think the site was made to rip people off, it was certainly poorly designed and a waste of money to use. Stubhub or some other site is much better deal for the buyer and seller. I had a one year membership previously and there is no chance I would purchase that again.

yeah they probably should. That would pretty much fix the "I got swindled" aspect of the trade.

20% is pretty high  also but I wouldn't have the same negativity because you can easily cancel the trade when it surprises you with that.
