Yeah, GBC should be running away with this thing very quickly. Cream of mushroom and green beans are both very healthy for you because vegetables, and then you and fried stuff on top for texture, BAM! one of the best combos ever.

Sidenote: I mix my stuffing and mashed potatoes together. It might be tied with GBC, actually. The funny thing is I started doing this independently only to be told all of my uncles on my mom's side do the same thing. Genetics? Subconscious memories? Dunno, the world is just a weird place sometimes.

I hate stuffing as well, and prefer no gravy over gravy.

are yams the thing that people have to put marshmallows or whatever on?

Depends on the gravy.

Real gravy made from the drippings/broth from the Turkey is fantastic.

Then there are people that make gravy from packages and should be banned from the earth.

'tates and graves.

I imagine oscar Weber loves the yams with marshmellows. Talks about them all year probably, and makes a really long speech right before the prayer of all the things he's thankful for, his kids, his health, and then right at the end he goes "also, those yams with the marshmellows! I'm thankful for that!" Its corny but gets a good laugh every year.

Yeah, I guess my statement was too general.  I've had some gravy's that were fantastic but over the years, in general, it seems like mostly packaged.

That being said, green bean cass... creamy, crispy, and should be running away with it.

oscar in the buffet line at Thanksgiving: "I'm skipping turkey and stuffing and getting an entire plate of yams w/ marshmellows this year!"

Gets an awkward laugh, but his fam appreciates the zeal.

GBC was around T-gives with my fam 20 years back, and my mom MADE me eat some. No food Moms make kids eat can be the best T-gives side.

The strange casserole was invented in 1955 by Dorcas Reilly at the Campbell Soup Company.

Quote
In 2002, Reilly donated the original copy of her green bean casserole recipe to the National Inventor's Hall of Fame. The yellowed 8 X 11 recipe card can now be found among Enrico Fermi's invention of the first controlled nuclear reactor and Thomas Alva Edison's light bulb and phonograph.

I think this proves GBC's eliteness, with it's original recipe sitting next to the first controlled nuclear reactor.

oscar's nephew: "Uncle oscar, are you going for a THIRD helping of yams with marshmellows?"
oscar Weber: "You trust try and stop me! I'm the yam monster!"

Big awkward laugh at the table.

quite the barnburner currently with team tates/graves tied w/ the gbc crew and stuffing not far behind.

also, on of my favorite parts of fso is when a choice has only one or two votes and you just know that those people are never going to actually enter into the thread and admit to it.
