I don't think the big problem with not having Zim is individual plays on a play by play basis. Schellenberg is not as talented as Zim, but I'm sure he's a capable player at the safety spot. The problem is Zim's experience and knowledge of our defense, and not having him out there probably means we can't run as much of our defensive package as we'd like to run and we can't make the checks and adjustments on the field that we'd like to make. Granted, I'm sure we have enough guys that can do some of that, but not the entire thing. This defense has gotten beat in one on one match-ups at times or players have made individual mistakes, but rarely do we get beat because we have defenders in the wrong spots on the field. Those kinds of mistakes become much more likely without the guy that usually makes those checks and calls on the field in games.
