Sounds like a hot toddy.  Also, I am drinking wines now and Google figured out that I was searching for mulled wine when I typed "mulklll."

story: walked into our first british pub in November and I was all, "this place smells a lot different than I expected" and then I realized it was the mulled wine cauldron on the bar and felt like an idiot but went to town booze style omg.

Do you put raisins or other fruit in it?  I've seen that.
My prescience is fully engorged.  It throbs with righteous accuracy.  I am sated.

Here's one that will blow your rough ridin' mind...

In the olden days, they would heat rocks (smoothed lake stones, prolly) up on the fire, and then put the spices and wine in the mug, then take the rock "mulling stone" and put it in the mug to make it all hot and stuff and really get it all mulling.

False.  The name comes from the inventor.  Second Lt. Christophe Mulling who heated wine and spices for his platoon on his charger's flanks during the battle of Arbonne

Ya

You can also do a great mulling spices mix on the stove with cider and rum.

Seriously though, the scorching hot stone from the fire is suppose to singe the ingredients at the bottom of the mug, and cause them to release their "flavor" to a greater degree (said the book).  I haven't tried it.  However, you prolly do not want to do this in crystal goblets.  You'll want to use heat resistant mugs.

I'd start with a Black Box Merlot (or similar box quality, better than Franzia), and most grocers have "mulling spices."

Just warm them up on the stove and go nuts.

"a garden city man wondered in april if the theologians had not made a mistake in locating the garden of eden in asia rather than in the arkansas river valley."
