Fostering Future Hope; ORU ADV

1st   Pace   PPP   eFG%   TO%   OR%   FTR
KSU   30   0.99   48.0%   19.9%   28.6%   36.0%
Opp   30   0.89   29.2%   16.6%   27.8%   62.5%

KSU   33   1.26   64.3%   18.4%   23.1%   100.0%
Opp   33   1.11   48.1%   12.3%   31.3%   57.7%

Total   Pace   PPP   eFG%   TO%   OR%   FTR
KSU   63   1.12   55.4%   19.0%   25.9%   65.2%
Opp   63   1.00   39.0%   14.2%   29.4%   60.0%

Foster will have to carry this team, unless Shane surprises me and shows he can play as a leader. Or play as he considers himself, "the best player on the team."

Will is going to play, and if that must happen the biggest key to this team is a decent amount of solid minutes from Johnson at PG. Will helps much more playing off the ball.

DJamer is a surprise, it will be nice to get Gip back. I mean, Jack...

Nino was much more like the Nino I remember from last year.

those oboard and to numbers are not attractive.

Very little intensity.

Foster is good but will get eaten alive if he is the other teams primary focus come conf time.  We are going to have to grow by leaps and bounds to not finish bottom three in conf.

Yeah, that's probably true. But I'm not sure anyone else can. Leaned up Gip better be good.

Can you break this down between frank's guys and oscar's guys?

Foster is very smooth.  Definitely a future All conference guy. His turnovers were a little alarming.

There's some talent but this year really does remind me of Wooly.  We have no identity or ability to assert one.  When we play the good teams on our schedule they'll dictate everything and only horrible performances by the other team (a la @KU 06) will yield wins.  Sys said 17 wins in chat.  That seems about right, maybe even generous.

Seems like of our TOs were self inflicted and can be cleaned up.

The new "every time the guy with the ball runs into someone its a foul on the guy who got run into" does not seem to lend itself well to this team.  Neither does the associated increase in ftr for the game.

First 9 minutes = 1-8FG, 4 TOs, 4 pts
**  Very hard to watch the beginning of this game. Very hard

Middle 20 minutes = 19-28FG, 3 TOs, 50 pts
**  This 20 minute stretch, those are very good numbers for last year's team vs a team like ORU

Final 11 minutes = 3-10FG, 5 TOs, 17 pts.
** Went into a funk after Shane hit his 3 (5 pts in 7 minutes). Foster hit 3 and had dunk and we hit 7/10 FTs to close it out

I like it too, I wished they used different stats, but it's a good concept.

good news is LBS runs a 3 guard line up similar to oscar, bad news is our line up sucks

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

When Jevon because eligible he will push will to the 2.

1. Jevon
2. Will <--- a better position for him (The best thing he does is being a ball mover)
3. Marcus
4. Shane <--- a better position for him
5. Gip

Jevon will mostly like be guarded by the opposing teams best defender.

Yeah, that's pretty much how I see it.

Then DJamer and Westicles first off the bench. Johnson will probably be in the mix as well because it will take Thomas some time to get acclimated.

Again, until Thomas is available I think Johnson is a pretty key player for this team. Last night's run started mainly because Foster started going off, but it also coincided with Johnson coming in to play PG.
