Today and Tommorrow, this is who we want to root against =

Ariz St lost last night to Oregon.  Ariz St was in the 8-9 seed range. They fell to 10-7 in Pac 12
3/5 Lville at SMU ....want SMU to lose. I think they are 9-10 seed(because of SOS at 165 and have only 4 top 100 wins), Lunardi has them a 8
3/6 Memphis at Cincy .... want Memphis to lose.   Memphis is in the 7-8 seed range
3/6 VCU at Richmond ... want VCU to lose.   VCU in the 7-8 seed range
3/6 Iowa at Mich St ..... want Iowa to lose.  Iowa in the 7-8 seed range

SMU lost, Memphis lost, Iowa lost.  That is all good news
VCU rallied to win.  They were down 11 and Richmond only had 3 FGs (3-22 FG  :sdeek:) last 14 minutes (31-13 VCU run to end game).

Games this weekend..... and teams we want to root against

3/8 SMU at Memphis .... either one losing is good. I think Memphis has the better resume. Both teams have 4 top 50 wins, but SOS (Mem 46 Smu 140
3/8 N mexico at SDSU ..... want N Mex to lose.   They are in the 7-8 seed range
3/9 Mich St at Ohio St..... want Osu to lose.   Osu in the 6-7 seed range.  A loss would make them 9-9 in B10
3/9 SLU at UMass ... want Umass to lose.  They are in the 7-8 seed range.
3/8 UK at Fla ........... want UK to lose.   They are in the 6-7 seed range.  A loss makes them 22-9,12-6 in SEC and their best wins are Lville and Tenn (rpi 27.51)

Iowa and VCU have easier home games.  They should win

We are locked in the 8/9 game in St. Louis and has been for a cool minute.

Why do people think these individual games the last week matter, at all? Is this just a thing where we completely ignore how the selection committee works just to have something to talk about?

Cats got beat for a 3rd time by Colo in 2011....few days later we got a 5 seed and CU was left out.  That shocked a lot of people on both accounts.  That being said, I don't like our chances now of getting to the 7 seed , in part cause I don't like our chances to beat isu. 8 vs 9 seems likely...... But The committee is never 100% predicable.

Not a buzzer beater.  There was time left on the clock after it went in.

I was going to come here and give you crap for being a nitpicking jerk, but I looked it up on Wikipedia and apparently time has to expire for it to really be a "buzzer beater". I really had no idea before now.

You're still a nitpicking jerk, however.

That's what bracketology and constant bracket projections from December until March are all about and fans get caught up in it.

Yeah.  I also think it's less buzzer beatery if a team holds for the last shot.  If you intentionally run down the clock then that doesn't seem like you beat the buzzer.  You had plenty of time.  Illinois held for the last shot with the score tied.  Havs just has his ass hanging out on this one iyam.
