What their record "should" be. It's a somewhat sloppy way of saying they weren't really as good as their record led many to believe, and the recent losses have painted a clearer picture of how good they really are (and were).

If you flip a coin and get heads 10 times in a row, then flipped it 10 more times and got 5 heads and 5 tails, it would still be regressing to the mean.

It seems circular to assert an abstract "mean" that they are regressing to.  We don't have the luxury of large numbers.

They're not as good as they first appeared, but they're not as bad as they've looked recently.  All I know is they have my respect and I certainly would not look forward to playing them.

Also, the only thing I can imagine is that their record would look more or less the same, because math.

Looks like they are only putting up 0.96 ppp on offense these last 6 games (2-4 record).  All 6 games 1.00 or under.

Their stud Ennis is only 25-67 on 2pt and their 3 pt bomber Cooney is only 9-43 from 3pt (in those 6 gms)
