Also for the coding studs, if I can do basic C++ can I do Arduino stuff?

Have you seen the Blueduino thing coming out this winter?  I donated for it on Kickstarter and am getting a few for it.

I just run plex media server on an extra machine at home and point it at my itunes folder and leave a port forwarded on my router.  play music via web interface or on ios app

I have quite a bit of music on Amazon and on iTunes.  I need something that will let me pull from both without having to double catalog.  Will Plex do that?  If not, anyone know what will?

why not run it on your regular machine.  why did you have to go extra machine.

Mix in trying to do this where pics (think Lightroom library) and videos are also available to Mac and Window and Smart TV thing on that NAS and that's what I've been trying to figure out....unsuccessfully.

i'm not familiar with amazon's setup - are they just mp3 files which get organized into folders?  you can point plex at as many folders as you want and have it show up as one library

also a cool benefit, i have an old ipod touch i didn't really have any use for.  i have it plugged into my receiver and put the plex app on it.  i then just select this ipod as my output device from the web interface or from my phone if i want to jam out on my stereo.  it's a pretty cool ecosystem IMO

Set up Windows 2012 Server on a hyper-v and set up a DFS share and add your NAS to it.
Where did you get that overnight bag?
