Sad and a hearty LOL . . .
« on: October 13, 2013, 08:31:38 AM »
at anyone going off on the hit on Daily (don't want to see anyone get hurt).

The shoulder hit first, yeah the Baylor guy had his head down a little, but the initial contact was with the shoulder.   The rule clearly indicates targeting with the crown of the helmet.

In addition, a defender trying to pursue a ball carrier is NOT a "defenseless player".  He is not going down, he has not "surrendered" on the play, he wasn't some QB standing back in the pocket looking down field after throwing a pass, Daily wasn't some guy trailing 10 yards behind the play and was sought out to target.

That's one of 2 ways to draw the penalty.

The targeting rule is as follows:

• No player shall target and initiate contact vs. opponent with the crown of his helmet.

• No player shall target and initiate contact to the head or neck area of a defenseless opponent.

No and I agree, SAMs getting slammed after the play was over was bullshit and all I had was the south video board to see the pick at the end but we all thought it should at the least be reviewed. Refs have been bad all the way around this year and we have an extra one now so it's not really excusable

the only good boo of the game and all it only served to show the refs that they could take advantage of our unknowledgable fanbase, which they did in the 2nd half.

Speaking of boos, I'm fine with people having a negative opinion on Waters, but booing him when he takes the field to start the game is poor. JMHO.

I didn't hear that. Minus a few people complaining, but they were just talking not yelling.

I didn't hear booing either but there was a healthy amount of heckling Snyder happening every single time Waters came in.

I booed. I just don't see why he plays and I want my cats to be successful. I don't dislike him. It's like booing a wasted timeout or dumb play call  :dunno:

i'm sorry but it was a clean hit. it's getting to a point where football players can't even make a good hard hit on someone. idk how many times i've seen a safety this year pull up a little and not go for the big hit and the pass is completed. defenses really are at a disadvantage in today's game.
everyone is jealous

that's nuts. daily was squared up to the play, he couldn't have been in a more defensible position.
