I think Bill likes the redshirt too much, however given that, there seems to be this weird coincidence whereby Bill trusts the really talented players to play early.  Weird.  Now, a lot of them are redshirt youngsters, but still “early” (i.e RS sophs).

Some examples – I think these guys played as RS SO or earlier:  Canty, Simoneau, Leber, Butler, Beisel, Howard, Newman, McGraw, Faggins, Jordy, Sproles, TBL

So maybe it’s just that we don’t have a (more) talented RB on the roster?  That might be the answer.

A few other examples: Sams, Hubert, Thompson, Zimmerman.

I'd add Pease and William Powell to the list of backs better than Hubert, though obviously they're in the same Frank Murphy lack of opportunities/production category.

Let me guess, Leverett missed a check down, followed by a check-with-me and subsequent snap at .05 on the play clock at the 2 hour and 54 minute mark of a practice in August and was immediately moved to the "not trustworthy" list and relegated to the sidelines??

lol, thats exactly what happened

Man.   I bet those ugly ku basketball fans were wondering who that old guy was talking to Currie.

That chick looks like she's in a fat suit.  It's the neck fat combined with the look on her face that does it.  Predominantly the neck fat tho.
My prescience is fully engorged.  It throbs with righteous accuracy.  I am sated.

Hubes also doesn't turn over the ball very much

His dropped pitch at Texas was one of the biggest plays in the game.

2012: 953 rushing, 98 receiving, 1050 total yards, 207 touches, 4 fumbles, 16 TDs, 5.1 yards per play, 80.8 yards per game.

Not bad, but the facts still remain, a more explosive back probably has over 1000 yards in '11 and '12, and probably more TD's.   The '11 Miami game for example wouldn't have needed a goal line stand with a faster back getting the open space Hubert got in that game.

Sams would average about 2.8 yards per carry if he were at RB with Waters at QB.

Sams is too tall to be a RB with his build. He would make a good receiver though.

Hubes also doesn't turn over the ball very much

His dropped pitch at Texas was one of the biggest plays in the game.

Maybe I'm biased, but I still think that was a terrible pitch and the resulting turnover is on Waters.

The pitch came way earlier than it would have from a good option QB, but it hit him right in the chest.

Hubert has been ridiculously consistent. He's taken a slight step back this year, but I attribute that more to the flux at QB than Hubert. And its not unprecedented.

Darren Sproles, yard from scrimmage:

2002: 1465 rushing, 99 receiving, 1564 total yards, 246 touches, 17 TDs, 6.4 yards per play, 120.3 yards per game.
2003: 1986 rushing, 287 receiving, 2273 total yards, 331 touches, 18 TDs, 6.9 yards per play, 151.5 yards per game.
2004: 1318 rushing, 223 receiving, 1541 total yards, 276 touches, 11 TDs, 5.6 yards per play, 140.1 yards per game.

Waters actually took the defender out of the play and the pitch hit Hubert right in the chest/gut, Not to mention Hubert is a Senior...

Go to 3:05 and tell me what was wrong with the timing or location of that pitch. That was all on Hubes... And nevermind the fact that he probably would've gained 5-7 yards had he actually caught it.

It's not as bad as I remembered, but the DE was still trying to play both the QB and the pitch. Waters would have had 7-8 easy yards, maybe more, if he would have just faked the pitch and turned upfield. The fumble was definitely Hubert's fault, though, as I said earlier. The biggest problem is trying to run the option with Waters, but if we are going to do it, he has to keep the ball every now and then to keep the defense honest.

We need a RB with SIZE. Hubert averages like 0.0 yards after contact.

As does dlew it seems

I think you could say if this team has 99 problems, the guy who dropped the pitch ain't one.
