I didn't like how Lutz basically blamed Sams on all of the penalties. The QB gives the snap count in the huddle and the linemen have to remember it for all of about 30 seconds.

Partially true, but most coaches are going to put that under the game management responsibilities of the quarterback. Maybe not fair, but that's the way it is.

I'm assuming Sams and Waters have very different cadences, the toughest road atmosphere we'll see all year likely isn't conducive to the o line getting used to the change.

Yeah, that likely factored in as well.

I don't know, I'll have to rewatch, but even then it might be hard to tell. Some teams go silent and the offense just goes on movement, some teams might have the center do the cadence after the QB signals he's ready, or it might be something else. And that might change from game to game.

to me it seems like it's more of a "holy crap we're about to get a delay penalty SCRAP THE CADENCE AND SNAP ME THE rough ridin' BALL!" sort of thing.

I was thinking along those lines as well.  Any chance you'll be able to break down when the false happened in relation to QB changes?   We've been fairly good with penalties lately.  Curious if this was an isolated or new development or something that goes along with the spinning door under center.  (Still, the line should have a pretty good handle on the differences in cadence by now.)

The line has sucked all year, and the last 3 games of last year. Stop making excuses for them.
