STILLWATER, Okla. -- Daniel Sams finally got his shot at quarterback for Kansas State and despite the Wildcats' efforts to pull off a road win Saturday at No. 21 Oklahoma State, a barrage of 12 penalties and five turnovers, four which were credited to Sams, cost the Cats dearly in a 33-29 defeat.

Will need to see the turnovers per minute and/or snap to formulate my opinion.

I'm with Bob on the point that Snyder needs to just name Sams THE guy and let him make all the mistakes now and work through them.

The season is already blown, no non-losery fan cares about 6-6 or 7-5 seasons and a rough ridin' Pin Stripe Bowl. Might as well try some things with Sams and give him full reigns to find himself as a QB. He's going to be completely terrible for a while, but at least it's building towards something. Waters will make a decent back up.

I thought we would be 8-4. I'm ok with 8-4 seasons after big 12 championships. 7-5 and 6-6 are uninteresting and really no different to me than 5-7 or 4-8.  If you like them, congrats. But maybe you should be over here http://cyclonefanatic.com/

I can still really enjoy this season if the team continues to improve so I can be optimistic about next year.

7-5 seems closer to 8-4 than 5-7.

7-5 is nothing great, but if we can finish at that record with Sams starting the rest of the way after losing to NDSU and Texas with Waters, I will feel really good about where the team is at the end of the year. That would basically say to me that we would be in the Cotton Bowl had Sams started from week 1.

Lutz clownsuited Snyder.

Lutz couldn't clownsuit himself if you helped him with the buttons.  Snyder hates turnovers and neither QB seems to understand how to protect the ball.  Comparing Sams to Bishop at this point is beyond ridiculous, and well into rough ridin' Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) land.

Yeah, it doesn't take anything away from the rest of his points, but the comparison to Bishop is TERRIBLE.

Bishop had a much better arm than Sams,  Sams deep pass attempts were almost laughable.

I'm not great at math, but 8 losses seems more losery than 6. Also, bowl games = more practices. I'd rather be among the 70 teams that get to go to a bowl vs. the 55 who don't...

I didn't like how Lutz basically blamed Sams on all of the penalties. The QB gives the snap count in the huddle and the linemen have to remember it for all of about 30 seconds.

Partially true, but most coaches are going to put that under the game management responsibilities of the quarterback. Maybe not fair, but that's the way it is.

I'm assuming Sams and Waters have very different cadences, the toughest road atmosphere we'll see all year likely isn't conducive to the o line getting used to the change.
