The day he figures it out will be the day that it is no longer true.

I'm just glad Snyder really sent the message by sitting Thompson out for two games, but still letting him be part by being on the sideline with a headset on.

Thompson helping with the coaching is probably what's gotten us so much #life the last 2 games.  He was spot on in his comments after the texas game.

I've been sitting on this, but it was revealed on this past week's "The GoPowercat Podcast" that Thompson had mono.

But another mystery was set forth - why is that Hubert is more effective with Sams at QB than with Waters taking the snaps?  DJDT can't figure it out at the moment, but tune in next week!

I thought they said "no way" Thompson had mono because he was on sidelines.

That was the prior episode.  I guess some new information came to light.  :dunno:

Yeah, Thompson obviously no longer has mono, so DJDT can start believing that he did and probably still does.

I've obtained the following transcript in an email:

Quote
Bart Ray-Gun (summarized): [Sams was lucky to have Thompson and Lockett out so he could be throwing to the backups he's used to]
DJDT: Can I also say, that this whole thing going around about Tramaine Thompson having mono is the biggest piece of baloney, you could make 2 foot-long sandwiches on how big that piece of baloney is.  There's no way that guy had mono.
FITZ: I don't know what's going on.  I wish I had an answer for everyone.  I just can't -
DJDT: I physically saw him on the sideline.  He did not have mono.  There's no way.  There's no way.  MONO?  People are like, on a couch.
BRG: He warmed up in pads!
DJDT: He warmed up in pads!
FITZ: I had mono once.
DJDT: He doesn't have mono.
FITZ: Uh, I felt like I was gonna die for a month.  That's all I felt like doing was sleeping for a month.  No way I could warm up for a practice or a football game or anything.
DJDT: Or even just be on the sidelines at a football game with the sun beating on you?
FITZ: No, no, no, no.

I would have been skeptical of that story. Glad Tramaine is better. Maybe if goEMAW had a weekly podcast I could compare the two to see which is more accurate/informative.

Kansas State QB Jake Waters Proves vs. WVU That He Should Be Full Time Starter

By
Sean Frye
(Featured Columnist)  on October 26, 2013
Kansas State just got its first Big 12 win of the season, and in the process Jake Waters proved once and for all that he, and not Daniel Sams, should be the full-time starting quarterback.

The Kansas State Wildcats (3-4) went into the game against WVU reeling and looking for their first Big 12 win. Waters, who had seen limited time in recent weeks backing up Sams, proved to be the spark LHC Bill Snyder was looking for.

Waters put up three touchdowns and 198 yards through the air on 10-of-13 passing. He also rushed for 55 yards and helped secure the Wildcats' first win in over a month, a 35-12 thrashing of the Mountaineers.

Waters actually got off to a bad start, fumbling the ball on the Wildcats' first possession. But Snyder said after the game that he was pleased with how Waters responded.

"I am proud of him," Snyder said. "When things don't go your way that is what you are supposed to do. We are all supposed to do that. That is what life is all about."

Who should be the full-time starter for K-State?

Daniel Sams  Jake Waters Submit Vote vote to see results

Where Waters really showed his stuff was on two deep touchdown throws to his two favorite targets, Tyler Lockett and Tramaine Thompson. The Wildcats lit up the scoreboard first on a 35-yard bomb to Lockett, whom Waters hit in stride on a post route.

Then in the second half, Waters found Thompson on an almost identical play that went for 30 yards and a touchdown.

Kansas State put the game away when Waters threw a perfect 24-yard strike to Lockett in the back corner of the end zone, giving K-State a 28-12 lead with just 7:31 remaining.

Many fans at Kansas State had been yearning for Sams to takeover ever since they saw him achieve some success as Collin Klein's backup last year. Waters three-touchdown performance, in fact, is the most productive game for a K-State quarterback since Klein went 19-of-21 with three TDs against WVU last season.

With his performance today, Waters proved that he deserves to be the starting quarterback as Kansas State looks to win three of its next five games to become bowl eligible.
Hot time in Kat town tonight.

Waters had a good game against the easiest Big 12 team we have played so far this season.  Why not let Sams run more than 3 running plays to see if he can be successful as well?

Jake did well.

That said, it is weird to me that some journalists are so eager to jump on his side. I mean, that Joshua kinder dumbass actually tweeted that sams td to lockett was lockett bailing out sams, but his tds w Jake were just good throws.  Weird.
