Predicition: Sams sees the field on 22 snaps this week, 10 at QB.
You might be right, but ftr, I want to say that anything less than 100% of the snaps, all at QB, and I will probably still be pissed.

I would be fine with Waters playing QB during garbage time in the 4th quarter when we have a double digit lead.
NO! After throwing 70 yard bombs all game long and running for 9 touchdowns with multiple foot plants, the garbage time will be for working on the dink and dunk game. Sams needs to get the reps in so he can dink and dunk better than Waters.

OSU has a history of playing dirty when things go south, and I'd rather let Waters trot out there to get sketti'd so we can have Sams next week to maybe beat Baylor.

Why do you think that is?   Could it be that there's so much red ass in their fan base (I mean, way more red ass than what exists in our fan base and that's really saying something) that it seeps into the coaching staff and then translates into dirty play by the players.   I mean Gundy and Ford sitting over biscuits and gravy at the diner.  Wow

Grew up on the Oklahoma border.  You have no idea of what redneck is until you go into rural Oklahoma, makes Missouri and West Virginia look like erudite elites by comparison.  More like Gundy and Ford downing Buds out at the pole barn.

So back to the topic at hand.....and this isn't inside info but my source has sensed some frustration with the tight ends basically being an afterthought so hopefully that changes as well. We need to run the seam play at least three times a game

Maybe they should quit blocking like its an afterthought.

Also ask him why he's a 5th year senior and just now taking stats.  Is it at least stats II?

 no, Stat 350 which is an introduction. It's a pre-req for a lot of classes though.

Zacker is a good guy, we were in the same fraternity together (The real best fraternity, sorry not DU)  He's always been passionate about K-State football and was pretty much on point today.

I wonder if butt-fumbling Waters' inept running ability has anything to do with our blocking suckage.  I mean, maybe Klein inspired guys to hold their blocks and get down field.  And, with Waters, guys are just like, "meh, eff it."

Maybe a very little bit, but I think this talking point is a reach. We have guys that just often get blown up at the point of attack and if they really have that mentality this team is done anyway, no matter who plays quarterback.

I can imagine the film sessions when they coaches are into the OL and TEs for not holding blocks and the QB that "moves well" and "runs better than you think" is curling into the fetal position on the screen before contact.

I think the team mentality is a wreck, starting at the top.  Not to rehash the Snyds Dimentia debate, but his post-game comments and in-game management indicate that he's pretty much just checked out.  And, basically, with our on-field leaders gone and all of our coaches collecting social security, we've got no voice leading this group of 18-22 year olds.

Maybe the team mentality would improve if a team leader like Sams was, like, leading the team at QB.  TT's quotes are obviously indicative.  But, it also seems like the players play harder when he's in the game.

The psychology of sports can't be understated.  We need to mix something up.  these dudes are playing lazy, unfocused, unmotivated football.  Basically, the only guy I've seen show any fire, is Sams.

There had to be a legit reason why our line sucks, I mean how do you go from last year to now? Can 5-7 guys really take that big of a step back at the same time? I'm not buying it. And don't say it was all Klein because hubes has sucked this year and was a 1000 yd (almost) back last year

1 – effort/technique: I hate to say this cause it isn’t quantifiable or whatever, but they are just getting flat out beat and have been in every game this year.  It’s quite absurd actually.  They look awful.
2 – QB:  an actual dual threat QB puts particular pressure on an opposing defense – backside LB’s/DE’s have to hold a second, safeties have to press the LOS, DE’s can’t get so far up the field that they create running lanes, etc. all of which give an OL more time to get to the next level, better blocking angles, etc.
3 – They were never anything but good:  the OL was good, but never really as great as most make them out to be.  They had problems with active DL fronts, especially when they shifted, had a lot of trouble with simple twists – and kind of buckled on blitz pick ups (it’s just that teams didn’t do it as much because they were afraid of CK tucking and running).

All good points.

And last year in only 2 of our last 8 games did we average over 4 yards per carry.
