Remember when we pulled Sproles' redshirt 6 games into the season and wasted his freshman year on 28 carries?

Predicition: Sams sees the field on 22 snaps this week, 10 at QB.

I'd like that to be true, and I'd be ecstatic if a couple of those non-QB plays went for good yardage. Unfortunately, I don't see either of those things happening.

Is there any evidence that Snyder and Co. know how to be "creative" with a player offensively?

I can't think of one situation where he actually used a special package offensively. We used Sproles like an I back more than anything. We had the beautiful Chris Harper for three seasons and all we did with him was have him block guys out if we threw him the ball. I was to young to pay that kind of attention to how we used Frank Murphy, but I have zero confidence this staff has the ability to use a player like Sams in any capacity offensively that isn't stock blocking for Waters option plays or Hubes running out of bounds because he can't make a cut.

That's the thing about Sams getting snaps at another position.  In theory it's great to get him on the field more, but who here is confident it will yield game-changing results? If the package isn't a little more creative than Sams on a jet sweep or quick out or decoy, what's really the point.

Motion from obvious passing formation to Sams at QB (from slot) and completely fool the defenses with the run or pass* option.

The only good part about this thread was finding out that that rough ridin' loser Dorian Roberts won't play that much.

I could resign myself to not having sams get most of the qb snaps (and I'll obviously have too).  whatever it takes to get him off the sidelines. I think I've realized that it's not so much that he's not playing, it's that he has to pace around on the sidelines like a cheetah that's been confined to a 5x5 cage. it's not easy to watch. he deserves better.

What's hilarious is that he isn't the worst starting CB in the conference.  This dude from UT couldn't stay in front of The Fridge.

Zacker is a good guy, we were in the same fraternity together (The real best fraternity, sorry not DU)  He's always been passionate about K-State football and was pretty much on point today.

You might be right, but ftr, I want to say that anything less than 100% of the snaps, all at QB, and I will probably still be pissed.

I would be fine with Waters playing QB during garbage time in the 4th quarter when we have a double digit lead.
NO! After throwing 70 yard bombs all game long and running for 9 touchdowns with multiple foot plants, the garbage time will be for working on the dink and dunk game. Sams needs to get the reps in so he can dink and dunk better than Waters.

OSU has a history of playing dirty when things go south, and I'd rather let Waters trot out there to get sketti'd so we can have Sams next week to maybe beat Baylor.

Why do you think that is?   Could it be that there's so much red ass in their fan base (I mean, way more red ass than what exists in our fan base and that's really saying something) that it seeps into the coaching staff and then translates into dirty play by the players.   I mean Gundy and Ford sitting over biscuits and gravy at the diner.  Wow

So back to the topic at hand.....and this isn't inside info but my source has sensed some frustration with the tight ends basically being an afterthought so hopefully that changes as well. We need to run the seam play at least three times a game
