The package I'm alluding to is in the backfield zacker

Oh…well F me.  I mean, D Sams and Mr. Int in the same backfield in a shotgun set.  I mean, think of all the options that we can run Jake out of that in.

We’ve had 2 weeks and THIS is what this staff has come up with?  Hell, not even 2 weeks…we’ve had spring practice, spring game, summer practice, 4 games…AND two weeks.

I’m done with them.  Done.  For as good as they did at optimizing the strengths of this roster the past 2 years they are just as if not worse at doing it this year.  I don’t even.

The QB capable of playing every position on the field at a high level should be starting at QB.

Btw none of this matters if our line doesn't have its crap together and if that's the case I'm against it, we are a injury or two away from 2004 and I'd like to salvage the season

Its clear Waters never makes any good reads. That breakdown I did of Lockett's game in Austin showed that all Waters did was "stare him down" and was just lucky Lockett caught it so much.

Look, I get the Waters critiques, but some of this has just gotten stupid.

Waters will do the take the snap and throw it down the line to Sams at least 3 times.  If OSU is fooled by it even once, they are absolute buffoons

yes yes yes yes this. absolutely this. i'm already pissed at the predictability.

Curious that you would think passes would be short.  Waters, despite his faults, has shown ability to go deep.  Sams would lay some burn on DB's and CB's in space, providing Waters can get it there.  I think Waters can.

Normally I would think  LHCBS is just setting up this play...except for the fact he doesn't let #4 throw the ball.

Guys, back when I used to be a stud at things like NFL Blitz or Madden '98, I used to do the half back pass like every third play, and if you waited a really long time and let a certain receiver just run a really long time, you could 70yrd bomb touchdowns all day 'er day if you were the Madden Allstars and were playing the colts or something.

Torell "Stone Hands" Miller step up to the plate

Most people blame Waters for that Int. to Miller that went off of his facemask, you know?

Anyways, would you people rather have our most dynamic athlete sitting on the sidelines "waiting" to play QB, or running all over people on the field, all beit at another position?

that's a dumbfuck question. It's like asking if someone would rather have $1,000 or get electrocuted. Him playing QB 100% of the snaps would be like adding $1,000,000 to the options.

Really?.....some people melting down about him not playing QB......And what has he shown at Qb to get you all hot and bothered?  Let me guess, "zone read...zone read....QB draw....punt...."  Yes, yes, I know he did score against the crap teams earlier when he had like 3 carries and some TD's....Get the guy on the freakin field....can't believe it took our coaching staff this long to figure something out.....oh, wait, let's see what happens this weekend yet, probably will be the usual Qb draw crap still.....

I think everyone is just seeing the offense move the ball better with Sams only running draws than it does with Waters throwing the ball to Lockett and occasionally throwing picks and scrambling for short gains and losses. Just think about how well the offense would move the ball if Sams were to start throwing passes.

Sams scores like every third time he touches the ball.  We should let him keep touching the ball until that average gets back down to normal man's level.

How many different ways will Bill be able to run Jake with Sams in the backfield or split out as WR?  That's what I'll be looking for.

Guys, this is all just Bill spreading misinformation.  I mean, Bookie Pimp told us this would never happen, both in the game at the same time....

How will we even veer?

Critiques on Waters are no more ridiculous than this staff trying to fix a broken car engine by putting in a new battery.

Running the veer would be an excellent way to get Sams some negative yardage so that people might start shutting up about him needing to be on the field more. Maybe this is Bill's plan.

I just want to take this time to acknowledge zacker for having an mvp bbs season.

I can't wait for Sams to get hurt while blocking for Waters on a speed option play to the short side of the field... :flush:

I think everyone is just seeing the offense move the ball better with Sams only running draws than it does with Waters throwing the ball to Lockett and occasionally throwing picks and scrambling for short gains and losses. Just think about how well the offense would move the ball if Sams were to start throwing passes.

Based on the OOC or the Texas game?

Look, I try to be fair in my analysis based on watching (and rewatching the games). And based on Sams just running the ball, K-State got to 3rd and 6, 3rd and 13, and 3rd and 10 on 3 straight drives that he led. I don't disagree that he didn't get a complete shot because he didn't throw the ball, but to say "moves the ball better with Sams only running draws" has no evidence from what we saw in Austin.

My analysis of the QB spot at K-State has only come from what I've seen, and I have made no assumptions that Sams can't read defenses or doesn't know the offense. But based on what hes not allowed to do, its clear the offensive coaching staff does not trust him to run some parts of the offense, and that's the only reason why I've pretty much conceded the spot to Waters.

Finally, in my analysis of every offensive play from 3 of our 4 games, Austin was by far Waters' best game, and I don't think its fair to conclude that he only had success in garbage time. His fumble was completely and utterly inexcusable, but that really wasn't a decision; as far as decision making goes I think he graded very, very well versus Texas. Frankly, this "stares down his receivers" talking point has very little evidence from my observations. If anything, he has made mistakes in presnap reads occasionally, but the reason he was throwing to Lockett so much IMHO vs Texas is because his presnap reads told him that Lockett would be open and he only made one mistake on a throw to Lockett in 19 attempts (the miscommunicated back shoulder throw).

Man, Mr. Int and Sams in the backfield, shotgun formation, we're on OSU's 25yd line....oh, Jake sees something...rushes to the LOS...audibles...hike....short side option.  what a thing of beauty.  can't wait for it.
