2013 MLB postseason
« on: October 01, 2013, 08:34:07 PM »
Dusty panicked by pulling Cueto when he did. I'd have let him work through it.

Also, I have this weird mix of being happy for/jealous of Pittsburg.

Teams I'm rooting for:
NL: Pitt and LA
AL: Tampa and Detroit

I'd love to see a Tampa/Pitt WS, but don't see either getting to the LCS.

Any thoughts, rants, questions, funny gifs/memes related to the 2013 MLB postseason? This thread is 4 U.

I don't care who wins as long as it's not STL.

Just realized I've been fortunate enough to avoid Tim McCarver all season but that streak will inevitably end in the next week or so... Only Phil Simms matches his ability to absolutely suck all life and joy out of a sporting event.

Detroit and Pittsburgh.

I'll root for PIT... They seem a lot like KC, but are just one year ahead.

I would like to see something really good happen for Detroit, a WS would be pretty cool.

Is the one game tie breaker the rays won last night the post season? I'll listen off the air.

Great question from a great caller wetwillie. It is post-season because the game was played post the season.

But technically its regular season, all stats go towards regular season stats.

Do the players act like they're excited with the fans tonight? I wouldn't if I was a player

Not sure if this belongs here or on the Royals board... Does TB make the playoffs if they keep Shields and don't get Myers? Solid pitching just seems to grow on trees for those guys.

While I'm happy for the small market teams that make it work (Pitt, TB, Oak), it also amplifies my frustration that KC can't replicate their success with a similar payroll.

Their minor system is finally the one we are trying to emulate.  They've just been doing it for longer so it's that much stronger.  And they have an unbelievable knack to grow pitchers, and pitchers can bring back lots in return.

No.  Their offense was actually improved this year by acquiring Delmon Young.

i thought it was nice of Cleveland to show us what it would have been like if the Royals had made the "playoffs"

I just can't wrap my head around the fact that Cleveland sold out 1 game out of 82, and it was #82.
