I think he should have said this, "He played some point guard in a completely different system than ours, that was like half a decade ago, and he was so terrible that they promptly went out and recruited over him. I was unable to recruit a PG worth a crap that's eligible to play basketball this fall, so I feel good that we don't have to play a walk-on at point guard this year...although we might if Will gets hurt."
