As has been stated before, but needs to be stated again, they ran a 10-3 coach out-of-town on a rail because he had the audacity to lose at home to a pretty damn good and very talented K-State team.

How quickly they forgot that Tom Osborne inherited a really nice gig from Bob "pass the booze" Devaney and while Osborne won a lot of games he got rolled by OU regularly, lost numerous bowl games and it took him nearly 2 decades to win a national championship (there was even a very vocal contingent that wanted Osborne gone at certain points in the 80's).

If anything the man is human, a real person. Seldom PC and straight forward. Some of you live in a velvet world with ponies running around your front room, pixie dust falling on computers. Real world, real world. Two years ago. Still here and working just as hard, and has made serious inroads to correcting his actions.

Thank God you never were in the Marine Corps or spent time in hostile action, your little ears would have fallen off.

I agree, I do not hold this against him one bit

After this weekend I was finally ready to hang up my "BO-liever" shirt and put him on the hot seat. The sixth year shouldn't be a carbon copy of the previous 5.

HOWEVER, after the release of this audio and his presser today, I'm 100% back behind him. At least for now.

i was all down on the guy and wanted him fired for blowing a 21-3 lead and then giving up 40 unanswered points at home but then he was all "eff you, dude" and he won me back.  gbr. nfm.

Pretty much the loudest moment on Saturday @ BSFS was when our new fancy KSTHD guy announced that Nubraska was getting pounded.

It's obvious that is the official feed for their radio network and not "someone secretly taping it."

Guess you could claim there was a rogue employee, but it is definitely someone who works there.

Random facebook comments from 'sker fans:

I could see people buying tickets and not going to make seats empty way before the sellout streak ends. And unless Bo leaves on his own or had a losing season, he will be here next year.

The sellout streak will never end-- or maybe it will. After all, we are "fairweather fans."
Bo should be gone asap.

The sellout streak is simply "pony show" now, plenty of empty seats on a weekly basis, and if a game has 2 bad plays our stadium goes silent and clears out.....that was the "fair weather" reference

I hope everyone shows up and boo's Bo off the field.

We ARE fair-weather fans. It's ridiculous. We were spoiled in the 90's. I know this audio happened two years ago, but I wouldn't have doubted or thought twice if this would have happened after Saturday's game. We did go quiet. So did the team. We hired Bo BECAUSE he had fire. We hired him to fix the defense (still waiting), but he runs a clean program and grades are up. There are many other schools that'd happily trade. When I was in school and Callahan was HC, there were thousands of empty student section seats. I haven't seen anything close to that since Bo's arrival. We aren't forgiving at all. We root for the visiting team more than we stand behind our own players or coaches.

Bo thinks we are fair weather fans if we leave at half time. Does that make our defense a fairweather defense?

Every program that has a passionate fan base has fair-weather fans. Husker fans expect perfection, especially when the head coach gets paid millions. Don't forget though that the same fans that were hugely disappointed in the game Saturday were still very classy to UCLA. We are still the best fans in college football.

I blame the O as much as I blame the D. 10 three-and-outs in a row? It was a comedy of errors. I blame coaches and players for the loss, but it was a loss. Yes, we've seen this story before. Yes I'm upset about it. Yes, I had hoped we'd be better. What is complaining going to do about it? We vent constantly about it. Think the players and coaches are throwing in the towel? This is just poor timing for Bo and for a hurt fan base. If this was posted after a big win few would care. We'd look back and agree with what he's saying. He's said for years he hears more "feedback" from Husker fans than Sooner fans and Tiger fans put together.

Ten three and outs in a row? Wow. Only thing Bo can do is win...win in November specifically

That many 3 and outs is as bad as turnovers, especially for a young defense

And against that wind we couldn't flip the field. I'm not trying to find excuses. We had the team, and the scheme to beat them. We proved that. Didn't manage the game like we should have. Didn't execute....oh man...I just went all Bo right there. Now I need to cuss at some people.

I agree jarred, but nothing changes the fact Bo is arrogant and stubborn and ticking lots of fans off.

Didnt execute? Really?

Good. Don't like the aggression towards refs, but I'm fine with the rest.

I am a high school football coach. I know for a fact that after games, particularly hotly contested games, a coach can be emotionally charged. In my last season as a head coach we lost a 4 OT game on a poor call from an official. I am certainly glad that when I was dissecting that game with my staff and my closest friends that there was not a hot mic in the room. I am certain that I would have made Bo blush with my level of frustration. Be honest....it happens to all of us. Someone cuts you off in traffic; you have an argument with a sibling, parent, spouse; you get frustrated with something at work. Everyone has been to the point where we lose control. The guy works in a thankless job. If we win, the fans criticize the margin of victory. The newspaper guys are grading his team in the Sunday paper based on their performance. Everything he does is analyzed, criticized, and dissected by the "experts."

It is to the point where I have to restrain myself when I go to games. The last game I went to I was fortunate to sit next to a 50 some year old man who complained about every play that Beck called. I asked him if he had ever coached and he finally got quiet. It is definitely not as easy as it looks. I can only imagine how fast the college game moves. I have a hard time tracking my players in a 9th grade game. And don't even get me started on the POS who held on to this recording until there was a game that finally puts them over the edge. Unless I have a name of someone who Bo can question or address.....there is no credibility for me. Be a man and take responsibility for your hack job. I want to know why they waited for 2 years to release this....interesting.

Preach!!

Make a trade Ferentz for Pelini

November does scare me.

As an outsider I find this all extremely entertaining

"We root for the visiting team more than we stand behind our own players or coaches."

That couldn't be further from the truth. I have yet to hear of anyone not stand behind the players (except maybe Martinez). But I agree people aren't standing behind Bo. The ones who are are the ones who are okay with 2 blowout losses a year and 9-4 seasons.

Jack Hoffmans dad on the radio today said Jack was upset during the game when fans were yelling at the players and coaches because they werent just football players but also his friends. Im frustrated too, but we need to keep things in perspective

I'm exaggerating to make a point, just as you do when you insinuate I'm okay with 2 blowout losses a year and 9-4 seasons. We are acting childish.
I'm not happy he said it, but given what happened that day (half the crowd did leave), I think his temper tantrum had plenty of truth in it. We just don't like to hear it.

Mom, that is really, really great perspective. Thank you

Why are husker fans panicking. Bo has a winning record since Bo took over. Need to quit reminiscing abt the 70's 80's and 90's. jst off that alone, Osborne would have been fired back in the day. It took h forever to win the big games. As far as this weekend, the better team won. I tld everyone NU wld prbly lose 38-17.

What Bo said in that Deadspin clip was true. I knw he can't wait to get out of here and go coach in the SEC again where he can coach top athletes on defense.
I'm purple down

Can't say I am in any way offended by what he said seeing as how I had a bit of a come to Jesus with a friend Saturday. I sure as sam snead would know better than to say it as a HC though. My buddy told me after the game he was done going to games and done watching. My response: Good, this team is better off with an empty seat than your sorry ass moping around feeling sorry for yourself. The sellout streak can end and you can blame it on Bo, but deep down you will know that it was because your sorry ass couldn't get over yourself and stand behind the kids who put on the big red N and bust their butts for your entertainment. It's not about Bo, it's about you feeling sorry for yourself. I then called him a quitter, we had another round on me and hugged it out and he left. I still think he's a quitter.

I'm just a fan, certainly gotta know better when you're a person of substance. I don't know how the person doing the leaking can sleep at night, big time weasel.

I'm confident Eichorst will not go into freak out fan meltdown mode and handle this professionally. Tough position for a brand new AD. Might not be a bad time for a TO cameo appearance.

I miss nub fans, never check their boards much since they left.

From BO

I want to sincerely apologize for my comments from two years ago which became public today. I take full responsibility for these comments. They were spoken in a private room following the Ohio State game. I was venting following a series of emotional events which led to this moment. That being said, these comments are in no way indicative of my true feelings. I love it here in Nebraska and feel fortunate to be associated with such a great University and fan base. I again apologize to anyone whom I have offended.
