We simply don't know how good of passer Sams is yet. Last year he was fine, but he was never in a clear situation where he had to make throws with the game on the line (or still in doubt in the 2nd half). It would seem that we can assume the staff doesn't trust him throwing the ball at the frequency that Waters has throw in it, but that leaves a lot of speculation to what he can do.

Can anyone remember the last Wildcat whose name could not be mentioned without adding words like "electric" "electrifying" "scintilating" "elucidating" in the same sentence. We are so blessed.

I'd say Sproles had a lot of those qualities, but yeah, it's been a while since we've have such an athletic player.

Plants are great... until a Big 12 defender takes out one of your legs and tears every ligament in your knee.

Why would you say something like that?

Because I saw that first pic of Sams, and it looks like he's about 2-3 feet away from #24 doing some serious damage to his knee.  He needs to learn not to twist and turn his body into vulnerable positions like that.

(cue multiple 'taters accusing me of wishing injury upon Sams)

So simply mentioning the possibility of injury is a sin?  Sams is going to hurt himself if he keeps pulling moves like that.  He needs to talk to Klein and get some tips on how to protect himself.

I don't think Klein is the guy to talk to on that one.

Really?  The past two seasons, Klein ran the ball over 500 times, rushed for over 2000 yards, and started every game for K-State.

And weighed 20-30 more pounds, after his JR year had multiple surgeries, and after a headshot vs OSU was never quite the same QB.

Sams needs to avoid contact much more than Klein if he wants to stay healthy IMO.

Needs to avoid direct hits, if he can use his quickness to avoid big hits he will be fine.

Isn't this the play when Sams was bum rushed by about 4 players right at the snap of the ball and then managed to spin away and throw the ball out of bounds?

are those white kneepad things common? I don't recall seeing them before, but of course I've never been this enamored of knees before either.

We should market his accessories as roofers' knee pads to get him more tuck support.

I think I've seen our basketball players wear the elbow HexPads...my guess is they are made by this company: http://www.mcdavidusa.com/protection/pads
