The report makes the following allegations:

* Coaches and boosters paying athletes, including violations ranging from paying for jobs not performed, overpaying for jobs and strictly paying players for performance.

DeForest is accused of running a bonus program – paying players for specific plays – as recently as 2011.

DeForest, who spent 11 seasons at OSU, is in his second year as an assistant coach at West Virginia. Saturday, he denied the charges.

* A environment of academic impropriety, from players not attending class to grade changing to tutors doing work for players.

* Widespread drug abuse and a drug policy that isn’t uniformly administered.

* Hostesses in the Orange Pride program providing sex to recruits.

Looks like OU felt threatened by OSU's sustained success and decided to take them down.

Being reported is the best part. Lets kids know how you roll on the national news.

I just read the link. So either Gundy changed everything when he took over, or SI just didn't explore what happened when he took the OSU helm? Looks like the latter:

The source added neither Cowboy coach Mike Gundy nor any current players were interviewed for the project, and that Sports Illustrated’s findings indicated that the program is not in the same state it once was.

My thoughts exactly. Make big news out of old stuff. Like Gundy, his staff, and players were all blind when they came in?

STILLWATER, Okla. -- With the imminent disclosure by Sports Illustrated of alleged transgressions by Oklahoma State's football program, athletic director Mike Holder apologized to his fellow Big 12 schools and vowed to deal with whatever allegations are exposed.

Holder says he was apologizing to "all of the athletic directors in the conference for what's about to happen, what's about to be said about a member institution. That reflects on everyone."

The school says SI told them about the upcoming expose. It has notified the NCAA and launched its own investigation.

that doesn't sound good... at all.

Am I the only one who thinks this will blow over?  Unless I'm mistaken, the NCAA can't do anything unless these "sources" voluntarily agree to speak with NCAA enforcement officials.  Otherwise, it's just hearsay.  The NCAA has a Faustian obligation to maintain the flimsy veneer of amateurism that it trumpets, and acknowledging the pervasive sub-economy of major college athletics would damage their mission statement.
My winning smile and can-do attitude.
