Cajun' the run
« on: September 06, 2013, 12:10:38 PM »
To put LaLa’s run game in perspective (numbers from last year):

LaLa ran for 193 yds last year, ranking 34th in the country KSU was ranked 32nd

Klein avg’d 4.4 ypc, Broadway avg’d 6.5 ypc

Hubert avg’d 5.0 ypc, Harris (LaLa’s RB) avg’d 5.1 ypc,

KSU gave up 215 yds rushing against NDSt.

I think this game will look a lot like the UCF game did a few years back.  LaLa will have to make some mistakes (in either strategy or execution) and we  (hopefully) capitalize on them.

They don't have a very good defense, the Cats should score some points. Hopefully it will be enough.

i think it's reasonable given the turnover on our defense (and its subsequent performance against a FCS opponent) to remove their stats from last year and given LaLa's returning starters to look at last year as a whole.

hopefully.  they return 6 starters on a defense that finished 86th nationally in total defense (in perspective, OSU was 80th, ISU was 94th), and 63rd in scoring defense (North Texas was 61st, OSU was 64th).

Maybe we can get a return touchdown from TLBL?

Is it premature to make dramatic statements about "what I will do if we lose this game?"

I think we will lose a heartbreaker, and over/under on formerly beloved player becoming goats for the rest of their life is 2.

if Sams starts (or replaces Waters in the first half or beginning of second half) and KSU loses, we now have a Meier v Webb battle, rather than a Dunn v Ell battle.

No question.  At that point the 2004 comparison is not debatable.

NDSU is fair, but Sun Belt FB is pretty bad. And North Texas beat LaLa last year.

We lost most of the talent on our line to graduation. This is not the same running team that it was last season

have you seen our defense? a paper sack would put up more resistance to a tsunami.

and our OL returned like everyone and we couldn't block a FCS team.

Everyone knew you were the weaker team last week. Let's not being league size into this.
