Never Forget - 9/12/09
« on: September 05, 2013, 01:14:57 PM »
We all remember struggling to watch this painful 17-15 loss through the atrocious coverage and picture quality that is an ESPN3 broadcast. It was our most embarrassing non-con loss in the past twenty years until last week

The thought of Josh Cherry attempting to kick a FG or EP still haunts me to this day, not to mention the two-headed crap show that was Coffman-Gregory (<---He at least improved as the season progressed)

As Michael Bishop's sweatband read vs the Huskers in '98. Never Twice.

Remember us having a chance to kick a field goal, but the homies there let the clock run out while the ball was out of bounds.  No time was put back on the clock, La La just hit the locker room.

I thought of that play when Texas beat Nebraska in the last Dr. Pepper--except the clock was stopped when the ball went out of bounds, and Texas kicked the game-winning field goal with 2 or 3 seconds on the clock.

'Twas crazy.  Pretty sure they put 1 second on the clock.  Also pretty sure that was Justin Tucker, one of the best FG kickers on the planet.

Was recovering from LASIK (but not really LASIK, the kind that takes a week to recover) surgery and couldn't see the rough ridin' espn3 at all and took a bunch of painkillers and woke up to hear us lose.

Not going to intentionally hi-jack this thread, but I would like to empathize.

2007... WVU vs. sPitt... Just win the game to have a place in the Natty... 13-9.

Take care of business this week, conference brothers.

I hooked up my computer to my TV so everyone could watch this game at my house. I remember it kept cutting out so I turned to Wyatt Vision and got a quasi-shitastic simulcast, only Wyatt was like 10 seconds in front of ESPN3. What a shitty experience that was.

Pitt was a 28.5 point underdog that game.
