I mean, there is the real possibility that this team begins to look more like the '11 team (i.e. offense playing keep away to make up for the shitty defense).  But that would require a change at QB and the OL not being awful.  Those things can happen.

I need to rewatch it, but I agree that the offense can get a lot better, even with Waters at QB. I don't recall a lot of 2 back stuff (under center or shotgun/pistol) and honestly that is when Hubert is at his best. We asked him to be an outside zone back, and he doesn't have the shiftiness to do that. If you think back to last year his best play is attacking in zone lead/power, attacking off of zone read, or some power sweep plays off of zone read action. Our running game seemed to feature a lot of one back/gun zone and it failed.

I think they tried some two back sets but keenan decided he wanted to be a spectator so it was usually DOA.  Gronk is an awful blocker.  Also our TE's got f'ng owned at the LOS.  It was all so bad.

Playcalling sucks, blocking sucks, and Hubert sucks.  Got it.  Thanks for the analysis.

it seems to me that sams was designed by god himself to run a zone read offense. as brilliant of an offensive mind as snyder undeniably is, I can't for the life of me figure out why he can't ever seem to adjust his offenses to fit the skills of his most talented qb. it just seems like we occasionally get lucky and get a qb that fits his offense perfectly but he never adjusts his offenses to fit his qb. exhibit a on friday night was the repeated attempts to run draw plays with waters.

I didn't watch Arkansas play them, but read that they ran the ball down ULL's throat.

I think Bill is going to cut the bull crap this game and run Sams up their ass and have Waters throw more deep balls.

I think he's going to try and piss pound them because he needs the team to realize that they actually can before he loses them.

Agreed.

I mean, of we don't "get right" against ULL, we really don't have a chance in our two first conference games (UMASS is garbage and the players know it)

Does cutting the bullshit mean not letting sean be the acting HC?  If so, I don't think he cuts anything because Bill will be the first to tell you the most important thing an HC does is pick his team up off the mat and get them ready for the next go round.  Important coach coaching moment here, guys.

I'm probably out of line here, but I think his past clearly shows how important Bill considers his football program in relation to his family.

If Sean starts screwing with the legacy, he's back to chatting with punters and arranging travel schedules.

I really hope the absentee father side wins out in this scenario.

Ya, I'm totally team big present in birthday to make up for crap fathering because of focus on the job, as it relates to Bill.

I am also very thankful that rough rider wasn't my dad.

Could you guys imagine how mumped up I would be if Bill were my Dad? Wow.    Sean is either tougher than shoe leather or a rubber sheets kinda guy.

Yeah, daddy complexes all around.

Sean is probably even worse off than the others because he has chosen to work in the fam biz and see dad everyday to try to make dad love him.  Hasn't given up.
