Been parking at the girlfriends for the last 4 months at the Baltimore lofts. There's never been a sign or anything. Apparently they put up a sign two days ago restricting guests to park there and never informed the tenants. I go to my car last night and it wasn't there. Towed!!! It cost $220 to get it and they towed it all the way to parkville. Wtf you guys?

parked in the apartment complex behind the wheel one afternoon when I was in law school. walked out back after about 3 hours of pak'n and saw a dude loading up my ride to tow away. gave him $50 to leave it there and proceeded to go back in and pak for another few hours. I think that's the closest I've ever come.

friend came to visit me in college at Chase during a non-football game long weekend, so the parking lot was pretty much empty. got towed in the middle of night (Saturday night), which is some BS, and we went to get it from the lot, but the towing company was closed on Sunday. rough ridin' towing companies are the shadiest dirtiest people around. My landlord said they have no business towing on a non-football game weekend, especially considering the lot was empty.

Was about to get towed, walked out started talking with the tow truck driver and person complaining. Made some comment about "the nerve of some people" jumped in my trucked and left. Felt like a pretty boss moment. But i think that the tow truck driver not blocking me in, is pretty uncommon?

Yeah, I got towed once when my transmission went out in Topeka. Pretty great, free tow with AAA.

Used to park in the visitor parking at old job. Those of us who did used to get yelled at a bunch for doing it. Had a clutch issue like the day after one of the times we were yelled at. Called tow truck and he said I had to mark my truck so he would know it from the few other similar trucks. Made a big, like 20"x20" sign on plotter that said "Tow Me!!!" and put it in the middle of the windshield. Everyone else at work thought I was trying to bigtime the boss since it was still parked in the visitor spaces the day after being yelled at.

You obviously didn't read the story, dumbass. It wasn't a tow zone the previous 4 months. They put up the sign this week without informing tenants. I never saw the new signs.

Mrs Rex grew up in the wild wild Middle East and then Wichita, which is basically just one enormous parking lot surrounding a series of box stores and chain restaurants. When we first moved to DC, she got towed all the rough ridin' time and cursed every time, including telling one officer to "just run the goddamn firehose over the hood if you need to. Those things rough ridin' bend, don't they?"

We did not get out of that ticket.
