I worked on campus whilst at k-state, technically i was in the employ of the state, at Holton Hall. Found out after a few months there that 3 three office ladies (who, in fairness, i made twice as much as day one out off college) that employed the ~5 of us as student assistants were essentially completely farming out their jobs to cheaper part-time labor (i.e our jobs were doing their jobs for them) So that's pretty much my opinion of government jobs.
