This just in from the guys above
There have been requests for added moderation of the boards, which draws the fine line between you wanting us to monitor "trolls" who want to elicit a reaction and people who simply have differing opinions. Some of you actually want people of differing opinions banned because that irritates you, which will simply not happen. We are, though, monitoring those who we believe may be trolling the board with intent of inflicting damage to this board and, in turn, interfering in our business.??
We would like your help in this. If you suspect anyone of intentionally trying to disrupt this board (and not simply disagreeing with your opinion), please forward me their screen name(s). If you have evidence of any orchestrated efforts to do so, please forward that information to me with links included. My email is available on the site, but it's -- fitz at spiritstreet dot com.??
However, some of you need to realize the nature of message boards. People come here to vent, to express opinions and some like to write things for their own need for a reaction. It's how all boards are nowadays. By nature, those who post are the most opinionated. That's why they feel compelled to post. If someone is irritating you, use the "ignore" function. If someone is targeting you specifically, email us links so we can keep an eye on it.??
It's not possible for us to see every thread, every post and catalog in our brains everyone who may be irritating to others. Maybe it's the nature of us being open to opposing opinions, but we don't get entangled in many back and forth discussions on Wabash. We have so many venues in which to offer our opinions and analysis, and we truly view Wabash as your place to express your thoughts without us jumping into every discussion.
??In March alone, our message boards (and a vast majority of the activity is on Wabash) had 3.7 million page views. The site had more than 6 million. This is a busy place and our guess is 90 percent of our customers rarely or never post, but they observe because the people who get so passionate about K-State sports (no matter what their opinions) are pretty darn entertaining. It's hard to keep everything straight when we're also doing other things related to our website/magazine/radio business.??
So, let's get out there and try to be civil, play a clean game, and if you find yourself getting overly emotional, take some deep breaths. This is a place to discuss K-State sports and opinions are welcome. Unfair attacks and personal aspersions are not welcome, though. If you believe this is happening, please email us A LINK.??
And if you're intent is to come here to troll with intent of damaging this message board, let this be your notice. We're watching.??
One more thing, if you're a member of this board, you had to enter a credit card with your real name on it. So always keep in mind, you're not really anonymous. We do know who you are and it's rather amazing sometimes knowing who you are in the real world and how you behave on a message board.
