so there is a house about 6 houses down the street from mine that has been for sale for several months. i drive by it everyday to and from work.

with all of the rain that we've received this summer (praise jesus!), the lawn at this location has become very unsightly. giving it a drive-by estimate, i would say that the grass is at least 4 feet tall.

i've called and complained to the real estate company that has their sign on the curb, but they haven't done anything about it.

so what should i do? obviously, i shouldn't start a fire in the tall grass, even though it wouldn't look suspicious and i would probably get away with it.

That yard is a potential fire hazard. I would call the city and ask them to spray herbicide over the entire yard. Your problem will be taken care of in about a week's time.

Yeah, they will fine the landowner and then they will demolish the yard so the shitty real estate company will feel the burn as well.

Round up a bunch of snakes and set them loose in the tall grass. That sounds like excellent snake habitat.

Commercial-grade product that needs to be heavily diluted. This stuff will kill everything.

Toss a bunch of rats and mice into the tall grass, and those snakes will be in heaven. Why would they ever leave?

it's actually pretty great...lots of old people. i think we all pay the same mexican guy to mow our yards, so they all look great except for this one house.

The city will send a mow notice, then they have like a month to take care of it. It's a really slow process.

i just called and didn't even talk to a person, the city has a voicemail set up for complaints.
