You guys say that about KU fans, and KU fans say the same thing about fans of programs like UK, UT, OSU.  When you have a ton of people who are not directly connected to a school but still support/promote a school in one way or another ("t-shirt fans"), it usually means you have an influential brand.  It's like saying, "haha! You have more fans!"  It's a really ineffective way to insult a school.  Enrollment smack and Flagship banter is much more effective.

UK, UT and OSU are national brands because they excel in the major sports.  You're a track school and thus the irony of KU having t-shirt fans.
