Unless we see the huge blowouts week after week, no one will convince me that Gill is/was better than Weis.
Except Gill didn't get blown out week after week.  He even won a Big 12 game once.  Plus Georgia Tech.

Yes Gill beat two BCS teams while at KU.  Even his last season he took Baylor with RGIII into OT and was competitive in a couple of other big 12 games.  The notion that KU was more competitive last year under Weis isn't backed up by the numbers.  The Nothern Illinois team that Gill beat his second season was far better then any team KU has played so far this year yet alone beat.

I'll stand by my opinion that this is the worst team KU has fielded in the era.  Just wait and see the defense looks improved but watch what happens as they start playing real teams and getting worn down.   They've at least had a run game to lean on the last few years this year they have nothing.

Gill inherited a KU program built by Mangino.  Weis inherited a KU program destroyed by Gill.  It's apples and oranges.  As for the notion that this KU team is the worst ever, that's completely ridiculous considering KU already has more wins this year than we had all of last season.  The numbers actually do back up the fact that KU was more competitive in Big 12 games last year.

This kostakio guy is a total dumbass who shouldn't be taken seriously.

Gill didn't destroy KU football, he brought it back to where it belongs.  One year of overachieving thanks to a shitty schedule and a gun wielding cornerback, and all of a sudden you guys think you have somewhere to fall from?

We'll see if KU can get over the "win a big 12 game" hump this year.

Be honest, if Gill was white and Weis was black your opinion would be completely reversed.

Also, Gill inherited a crap show left by Mangino.  Gill at least knew how to gain yards.

I'll stand by my opinion and let it play out.  I'm not even trying to make a comparison of Gill to Weis as coaches.  I'm just saying this will end up being the worst football team of the era.  Obviously current coaching is part of that but I'm aware there are other factors that play into it.

As far as the wins go KU fans seem to think last year's team was improved even though they won less games then the previous season.  Any of those teams would be at least 2-1 vs. this current schedule and quite possibly 3-0.  None of them were bad enough to lose to this La Tech team at home and this year's team was lucky to escape with a win.  I mean in their last two homes games La Tech was  handled decisively by Tulane and Army yet KU had to be gifted turnovers to pull out a win vs. them in Lawrence.

You're underestimating the :opcat: factor at play

Ku random is extremely racist and cant accept that a black guy they ran after 2 years is more accomplished than his honkey replacement.  They will continue to blame the black for their shortcomings

The roster Gill inherited << The roster Charlie inherited

Mangino doesn't get enough credit for ruining the flash in the pan he created at KU. Gill wasn't giving enough time at Kansas to be judged. But I do believe he was making headway in recruiting, something Charlie hasn't done well because of the lack of talent coming in from the High School ranks.

Mangino didn't ruin it.  The schedule just went back to what it was for other teams.

K-State is historically one of the worst college football programs of all-time and has a huge disadvantage in the all-time series against KU, so all of this BS about how KU "belongs at the bottom" is just as true (if not more) for K-State.  You guys lost at home this year to an FCS program and got blown out by a shitty Texas team.  I can see why you're so butthurt, but damn, at least be honest with yourselves here.

The 2011 team also led both MU and Texas Tech at the half and were still in those games into the 4th quarter .  At one point I calculated their average margin of defeat in conference play and it was only slightly better in 2012.  Not enough to say they made any kind of meaningful improvement.  When you combine that with the fact they won more games in 2011 including a win over a solid Nothern Illinois team I say they were not more competitive.

We lost to an FCS team that has a Sagrain ranking in the top 30.  If NDSU played KU next week they'd be two TD favorites.  It's still embarassing that we lost to them just like it would be embarassing to only beat KU by 14 points.  As for the Texas game it was another crappy loss but without looking I'm guessing it was still closer then KU has ever played them in Austin.

The all-time series desperation post by Beems is telling.  I hate to tell him that ku started like 17-0 going through 1916 or something, which is a large chunk of the 23 game edge ku has in the all-time series.  K-State has been relevant in college football in at least 15 of the last 20 years, ku 2.  I know that's depressing for ku fans, but no excuse to invoke the games before 1930 as some perceived superiority.

KU has finished in the top half of the Big 12 once in 17 seasons...ONCE. Sounds like a basement dweller to me  :dunno:
