KU is going to do this project.  I don't know why people think they aren't.  But it's likely gonna be another 5 years before it's done and even though they supposedly have a large commitment paid out over a decade (reportedly) and suite sales.  They're likely going to have to borrow a lot of money.

Right now they're razor thin between operating in the red/black and they had to get LOL creative to show they weren't in the red the last couple of years.

I'm glad we were able to get ours done before the state budget cuts kept piling up... you know you're gonna hear a ton of complaints about doing a $300 million renovation on an existing building while professors are being laid off. (Not that the two are correlated). Heck we had people saying that even though things weren't as bad, the AD has more money, and we did it in parts. Expect some angsty LWJ articles from disgruntled professors...

At a KU football boosters meeting in Johnson County, Zenger said the project would be completed in 3 to 5 years.  My KU friend says that several "Denver whales" pulled the trigger on big donations.  He named Anshutz, but said there are others.

I agree with Jhawkin27. I think SEMO is a W, and I think we beat CMU, but Ohio could be a deciding turn in the development of this team. Win and you are looking at a 4 maybe 5 win season. Lose and you are fighting to get to even 3 wins.
If we win at Ohio this September, I think we are going bowling in 2018.

Ohio plays at Purdue a week before us, so that will be a good opportunity to see how they fare against a team similar to KU.
Ohio lost their QB, 2 or 3 starting OL, and their top 3 receivers. They also lost almost all of their DL from last year.
If we can't outscore them this year with all the added talent (Bender, Charlot, Baldwin, etc) then that will be a huge disappointment.
