i used to have jayhawk jaxon detail my car. his favorite bar is Saints in shawnee.  he used to brag about how he loved his haircut.  he could wear it as a fauxhawk on the weekends to pick up chicks and during the week bring it down into an over gelled caesar for a more professional look at work.  i haven't heard from him in a while.  the last i knew, he took a job at advanced auto parts in grandview.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

My mind wandered a little the other day when reading this thread and a few things crossed my mind when realizing how jelly I am of KU's setting.

When we decided to dig a huge hole and put a football field in it, what did we do with the dirt that was removed? and why did we not make a slight incline of a hill somewhere around it?

Now.. what if we somehow reinforced the roof of the fOOD, and put dirt and grass on top of it, making it a hill?

Dream bigger, Shooter.... If we should decide to put in a hill, I say we build a bigger one; almost mountain-like, if you will.

Only place to do that is the sheep lots to the north.  Couldn't be that expensive since it's just dirt, unless we decide to have some flatirons shipped in from Boulder.

The sheep lands are held in trust and the terms stipulate no non-artiodactyl development.  We'd have to build a mountain suitable for mountain meat goats or something.  Imagine how majestic it would look if we did limestone!

KU Karl is the guy who won't let visitors leave Lawrence until they admit it was the greatest experience of their life.

Somebody needs to write up a bio for KU Karl.  I'd suggest a life relegated to suburban JoCo living, trips to Lawrence for the "big game" and a few weekends in the Ozarks.

KU Karla I work with will not shut up about how her daughter wants to be a waitress or some crap at The wheel.  I always pretend to have no idea what it is and it drives her bananas, like she will send me pictures and crap

The Wheel!!  The Wheel!!   :dunno:

Protip: at the dairy farm north of the meat goats, you can get free dirt mixed with cow poop that makes great soil

Here's the thing, you guys are thinking about mountains, water, cliffs, etc. But those are the settings of mediocre spots for a college football stadium (Colorado, Washington, Utah, El Paso). Memorial has a pretty significant incline of a hill that would make any 40+ year old maybe have to stop and catch his/her breath kind of. And that's the most beautiful spot for football in the country.

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

I see all of the stuff posted on the Phog and I think "no way is this actually real, this has to be some kind of elaborate joke". Then I see the scores of games and their record and I think, "this team can't be real, no way someone in a P5 conference is this bad, maybe the conference schedules an extra bye week and then pretends everyone played a team." Then I see pictures of the stadium I think "no way is that the actual stadium of a college team. Maybe it's the ruins left by some mid century high school" Yet, when I drive through Lawrence I find out that, KU is in fact a very real thing and an affliction that affects up to dozens of Kansas each fall.

I'm honestly impressed at the mental fortitude displayed by the less fortunates over in Lawrence.

one thing that has bugged me for awhile and soren touched on it today...ku fans hate weis, blame him for the downfall probably more than anyone else. they use him as reasoning as why they are so bad now but will be quick to point out that ku has won a bcs bowl more recently than ksu. weis won a bcs bowl in his first year as a college coach, did they just simply not give charlie enough time?

I think your issue is trying to understand a ku fans reasoning skills of which there are none.

They are institutionally indoctrinated to believe that everything about KU is great.  They have no more control over their thought process than the Manchurian candidate.

Taking all that into consideration, is it possible that KU football fans are actually the greatest, most loyal football fans in the nation?? I mean you would really have to be a devoted fan to look past the terrible players and terrible stadium and everything else that's terrible about KU football yet still show up in person to watch them play.

Nah I'm just kidding, those people are either stupid or self loathing or a combination of both.

Blaming Weis isn't sufficient.

Mark Mangino turned KU into the worst program in the conference.  They finished dead last in his final year.  No one since has done significantly worse.

He built that program and he can also destroy it
