never change beems...

KU had more NFL talent than K-State last year...

...according to the results from the NFL Draft.  By my count, KU had three guys drafted (Heeney, Shepherd, and McDonald) while K-State only had two guys drafted (Lockett and Evans).  KU also had a number of guys sign with teams as undrafted free agents.  I think this pretty much confirms the notion that the only real separation in terms of the two programs is coaching.  Snyder milks every last drop out of his talent and gets his teams to consistently over-perform, while KU has had a couple coaches recently who never really had a clue how to coach a college football program.

To Gill's credit, he was able to identify talent, but he didn't know what to do with it once it reached campus.  Weis was basically the same way and changed offensive schemes almost every week instead of developing a consistent strategy. It's really frustrating because with a good coaching staff, I think last year's team goes 5-7 or 6-6 and competes at a much higher level.  You could see during the TCU game that last year's team was capable of beating just about anyone when they played with energy and intensity.  It's really a shame that those guys didn't get better coaching throughout their careers.

I knew this post was coming as soon as the draft was over. Like clockwork, Beems never disappoints.

Well, he's right that their coaching has sucked and that their team probably would be better if they weren't so bad at picking coaches.

If you include UDFAs as like half a point, what does that bring our total to?

I mean, if you think about it, KU had nearly as many players drafted as Alabama. They're so close, I can taste it. Practically the same program.
