Fantastic.

Capital Facility Projects financed by the respective  athletic departments (not by university housing, developers, student fees or taxpayers)  since 1988:

K-State $243 Million   :kstategrad:

KU $120 million

OMG

New practice field announcement.   Gonna have to bump K-State up to $245.5 million since 1988, and as per usual, all paid for straight out of the pocket of K-State athletics . . . no leases, no student fees, no taxpayer funds.   Unlike other schools.

Those numbers are completely inaccurate and saturated with multiple qualifiers.  Why are you such a dishonest old turd, 'Pad?

$80 million in long-term debt

Well, yeah, I mean what's the point of us having excellent credit if we aren't going to put it to use while interest rates are historically low?

KU grad that does my dry cleaning was telling me a story about the KUAD the other day. Well, I guess their clip-art complex ended up costing roughly $6 million more than they'd projected, and get this, they had absolutely no way of paying for it. They talked to everyone that would listen but couldn't get a dime. They ended up taking out a $6 million loan to cover those costs. lol, wut? Can someone confirm if this is true or not?

A $6 million loan?

Why should ku athletics get credit for funding a facility that was paid for by non-profits/developers/taxpayers?   Why should ku athletics get credit for funding a facility that was paid for with student fees?   I subtracted out $8 million from K-State's total for the portion of Bramlage that was paid for with student fees.   ku athletics does a great job of spending other peoples money that ku athletics didn't have to go out and raise or earn.

Sad

New fence around one end of football stadium at KU.   New fence around baseball, track and football stadiums at K-State.   So, K-State.

You guys sound pretty bitter that Bramlage wasn't built in a lower part of Manhattan. KSU could use FEMA relief funds, instead of footing the bill on their own, for a renovation which could lure a better coach than oscar. Progress is progress. ISU hoops hasn't looked back since the flood! A flood in Bramlage could have been what K-State hoops needs to get back on track. At schools like ours, you can't let these types of opportunities pass you up, guys...

Welcome to KState, where our houses are big and brand new, and we have the financial wherewithal to service 3x more debt than our poor white trash cousin down river whose fico is too low to finance a $10 million rape den*.

* but who did manage to remove a miniscule amount of the blight from its football property, and even splooged for 1/4 of a new fence, presumably to keep its livestock in/out.

I like how numbers are thrown around without any context in these debates.  I also like the rubes who think debt is a bad thing.  "My dad paid cash for everything!"  And he retired a loser who relies on social security.  Personally, the ratio of cash money to financing on the cats projects seems too high, we could have spread that a lot further.  But that's what being a public university does to you, along with tucks who think we have to be "financially sound." Whatever the eff that means to them.

Bramlage is always flooding, it was built over an underground spring.   Pumps run 24/7/365 to keep it from flooding.
