I wasn't at the game.  How frozen was the field?  Probably too frozen for the types of cleats they brought.

Great values. Yeah, knocking up some chick in high school sounds like great values.

That's in regards to Kevin having Tyler in HS.

i love when they talk about how our endowment is so small and stuff, then i show them pictures of privately funded athletics buildings, new academic upgrades, recreational upgrades, big time government projects, the union upgrades, old stadium renovations that all have happened in the last 5 years.  i wish our endowment was bigger tho  :jerk:

There's a major initiative to do that, 40% of the total giving to K-State in FY 2014 went to establish new or expand existing endowment funds, that was about $83 million dollars given or pledged towards new or expanding endowments.   The plan is to continue at that rate for the forseeable future.

They do that after every big loss. It's embarrassing. I still have a login, so I can see the trash, but man, talk about a bunch of ostriches burying their heads in the sand.

That's actually a guinea pig burying its endowment in the sand.  #TexasSized #TripodPiggy

I'm guessing if we had a med school and a law school our endowment would be bigger because we are kstate and they are ku.

All sports can cause orthopedic problems, especially in grotesque mongoloid bodies.  Bill Walton is still a beautiful basketball mind and brilliant commentator who hasn't shot himself in the chest or killed himself in a trashcan, tho :frown:

Re: New Vanier Football Complex
The College doesn't need a big endowment.  Topeka gives them EVERYTHING they want, courtesy of the Kansas taxpayer.  Meanwhile, we have to privately fund all of our projects.

I think Strong Hall should tell Der Fuhrer and his minions that for every dollar they take away from KU, we take away a little more of their control on how we operate.

Yes Spracs, profesional basketball only leaves a few aching joints in later life and never takes an emotional toll on current and former players and family.

Being a physician, attorney, message board owner or any other high-stress, long-hours professional can take a toll on a person/family.  What's your point?

I don't know, what was your point about bringing some of the perils of playing a game in response to a post about the factual reality of football being an economic monster and the sole reason we even talk about conference realignmet and TV sets and all that fun stuff?

Will these monuments to the college football arms race become mausoleums (mausolea?) to a bygone era of medical ignorance?  Pastries for thought.  What now?

Will they say that K-State---the undisputed king of college football---perpetuated and proactively discouraged the discovery of the long-term negative effects of participating in these gladiatorial games?  I don't know, I just don't know.

You're channeling your inner Phogistian Spracs, with a slight Beemsian twist.

The "what now's" are endless for college athletics.   What happens when academia steps in and says enough is enough and demands the whole thing get shut down, or trundled off to be a for profit minor league for the NFL and NBA completely disassociated from institutions of higher learning?   Or demands that only true scholar athletes get athletic SCHOLARships and the one and doners, and 16 hours of online art appreciation guys have to go into professional development, again, completely disassociated from instituations of higher learning?

You could play that game all day long.

Every time the gameclock wanes, a mother's son gets sketti-brained. Think about that.
