With all of the BSFS NEZ buzz, I got to thinking about KU's track renovation.  I though that thing was fast-tracked (pun intended) to be done before the '14 football season.  Yet, here we are in Feb and there hasn't been any track-removal chatter for 4 months.  maybe the new bball dorms pushed it down on the priority list?

HKUFBIQ folks, what's the story here?

The track program has its complex.  This is a pic from early December '13:

Next step will be removing the track from Memorial.  Expect some renderings in the spring.

Looks to be in the middle of nowhere.  What a piece of crap

A friend of mine brought this to my attention today, even though it's from September. Don't remember it being posted here.

Quote
When Weis arrived at Kansas, he said he would stay for the duration of his five-year contract, but no more. He was here to jump-start a dead battery, not power it long-term. He has since amended that statement — perhaps with some prodding from the athletic department — noting that, in fact, he would like nothing more than to last long enough to hand the reins to his son, Charlie Jr., a student assistant for the Jayhawks. During practice, Charlie Jr., who is a 20-year-old junior at KU, is one of the few other coaches in long sleeves, a trimmer version of his father. (If Charlie Sr. is the size of a lineman, his son would struggle to fill the punter’s shoulder pads.) Charlie Jr. is seen as an extension of his father’s brain, with the best understanding of Weis’s complicated offense, and in spring practice Charlie Jr. would often stop drills to help players figure out how to run Weis’s schemes. One KU assistant told Weis that his son could be a position coach at the Division I level right now, while Weis said an NFL team had called in the offseason to offer Charlie Jr. a full-time position.

As would I. An inexperienced youngster produced from the loins of Charlie Weis and carrying his marvelous head coaching genes with the Jayhawks would be just fine with me. Rock Chalk Loser Weis Hawk.

There was that article a couple years ago, "What if Mike Vick was white?".  How about if that weezing sack of Crisco on the scooter was black?  What a disgusting fanbase

I liked when they claimed that Charlie Jr., a student assistant, has a better understanding of the offense than all of the offensive coaches.

They already ran off Grunhard, maybe this is a way to run off all the other dead weight until just the two Charlies are left and running the show. Then they can truly show off the genius of the two Charlies without anyone getting in their way.

I like how you can go to KU, have no success for two years, and think so little of the athletic department that you will be able to name your 20 year old son head coach when you leave.

For now, sure it is. But wait until they run off all those pesky, untalented assistant coaches and it's just the Charlies out there recruiting and coaching this complex offense.

Watch out!

Not true. He left because he's a dick. Wasn't he forced out?

He was probably not down with the staff's "I'm just here to collect checks" mentality.   I could see a guy like Grunhard wanting to improve his stock with wins and move up the coaching ranks.

Guys, I know Grunhard, and whether it is true or not I don't know, but he says that he left because he couldn't stand working with Charlie Weis.

Yeah because nothing says move up the coaching ranks like leaving a big 12 school to go be the offensive line coach at a 4A high school.

If you substitute "KU" for "Big 12 school"  it makes perfect sense.
