IIRC, Beems moved from Topeka to Lawrence to Portland.   All he knows is sad, dreary towns and seeing beauty just enrages him.

I like KU's limestone buildings with red roofs.  I think from the aerial views it looks great (like Prague right Beems?).  I don't understand why they are going away from it though and throwing up different designs from different architects.

In general, that's always been my beef with their campus. I actually like most of their buildings individually, but a lot of them don't have any central theme or continuity. It's kind of a hodge podge of different building styles that don't really look like they belong to each other.

When the ground level looks like a forgotten Soviet block, show pictures of the roof. I don't know a single Ku grad that's been to Manhattan that won't acknowledge kstate has a way nicer campus.

That's actually pretty funny, because outside of that one building you always see in pictures of KSU's campus, the very word I would use to describe the design aesthetic is Soviet.  I understand that some buildings have been builded in the past 5 years or so that look less utilitarian, but still...
