Posting on goEMAW doesn't make me obsessed with all things K-State.  There are quite a few non-KU posters on the phog who are regulars.  It's not that abnormal to post on another team's board, especially if it's a good board like this one.  The recent flock of shitty posters from kstatefans and gpc has made this place worse, though.  The sports discussion on both the hoops/gridiron boards is 90% anti-KU, butthurt stuff these days.

Between here and ksufans, you have more than 20,000+ posts on K-State sites. When you're not here, you are mostly talking about KSU on the phog. Your insecurities drive your obsession.

Since Rock Chalk Park is so important for ku to move on to removing the track.  First hand accounts from the 'Bash indicate that the stadium portion of Rock Chalk Park was awarded on no bid contracts to a construction entity that's known for cutting corners.   Lot's of talk of their construction not being up to spec, corners cut, and way to thin concrete in places.  3 guesses who the contracts were awarded to . . .

The also apparently built a "world class" facility that has no restrooms on one entire side that has several thousand seats.

The track itself is pretty nice, everything else sounds like it was done on the cheap on an inbred bid award.

Got a tour this afternoon.  My guide (not a KU employee) told me that the concrete was so thin in spots in the seating portion that a well placed punch would go right through.  This thing could kill people folks.  Thats good for the university image right?

Some good stuff in the LJ World about corner cutting.   Really enjoy the comments from the townies.   Hell of a deal for Fitzel, $12 million up front, and control of concessions and parking for events.

Guys like this Fitzel character profit from desperation.

And if any of you haven't been following the construction stories coming out of Lawrence, boy they're hilarious.  First off the entire KU Athletics and KU Endowment Association portions of the construction were issued on no bid contracts to a local real estate/construction magnate.  There have been multiple articles in the paper here stating that the work that this contractor has done is not up to code, specifically the concrete being too thin in places.

So fast forward to today while out on site my guide tells me that there are places in the concrete for the stands that are so thin that you can literally punch through them with your bare hand.  To my untrained eye it looked as if the structure is already under considerable strain, and they haven't even finished construction yet.

This thing could literally fall apart and kill someone if/when it ever gets filled to capacity

I don't ever go on the phog, waveourwheat, etc, etc...because I don't care. That's just me though. I get the part about the "good board" point though. It can make a difference I suppose!  :tsc:

Does Lawrence really have that big of a parking problem?
Also, this can't be real, all the poors at KU don't drive Audis.

Seems like a bad plan to let out no bid contracts to guys who simply want to screw over the hayseeds in the AD.

I'm sure he is but it is going too slowly compared to the rest of the conference.  We have some huge alumni that could bail our stadium out and it's Zenger's job to show them how important it is for KU.  When it comes to the football stadium it seems you hear something positive from K-State every month and nothing from KU.  More and more Kansas kids are choosing to go to K-State while KU continues to play football in one of the worst BCS stadiums in the country.
