Is it feasible for LL to be hot seated this season?  Could KU even be so cavalier?  Is a stadium project that is still so near a blank slate be a selling point to a new coach or a hindrance?  Could they get Kotelnicki back?

absolutely not.  The jayhawk program is a career killer.  There is literally no one better than leipold who would even consider that job

Agreed. They're stuck with him now.

No one would enjoy this if both fans and their QB hadn't acted like they wouldn't lose a game.

Exactly. They get what they deserve.

Yeah, like I get the k-state twitter bros making hay over it, and they ku reply guys being annoying AF before this season but like I don't care about that. I genuinely like many other bought into the hype that this team was, maybe not a playoff team, or even a Big 12 title favorite, definitely a dark horse in the Big 12. I definitely expected 8-10 wins for them, and if things fell right, even better.

The regression has been almost breath taking. I could see at this point a 3-2 team being disappointed in that, but 1-4, that isn't disappointment, it's abject failure.

Agreed, I would rather KU be good. And really I'm surprised they aren't.

Sadly I'm not sure they will be really happy if that's the bar for happiness

LL will be better off with a new OC and QB next year.

What's LL's buyout? What about the buyout for Kotelnicky (sp?)'s buyout at Penn State???

They probably would be better off making this move, but I doubt they can afford to do so right now.

What do you do when you're tied to the 8 million dollar bionic man program builder who suddenly looks like he's built of the spare parts of Les Miles and and Chuck Weis? That's a lot of money to pay for anything less than a playoff contender, much less a loser who brought in a lot of recruits Saturday to watch the rayhawks with their 30 seniors' be dismantled my the horn frogs. Yikes.

Kalen Deboer only gets $10M per year. I'm not very good at math but sounds like he should be demanding $80M now.

Candidly, they cannot afford to fire Lance until after 2026 at the very earliest (when it would "only" cost them about $14 million), and probably not until after 2027, more realistically.

By the time they can afford to fire Lance, it's likely that Kotelnicki will have either already washed out at Penn State or already gotten a ~P5 head coaching job.

If they are stuck with Lance for another 3 yrs, I bet he makes at least 1 bowl in that time.

they should do that thing they did with their old coach where they made a bunch of wild accusations/slanders to not have to pay his buyout. worth a shot again.

This is a very tempting bet.  If they only win 1 or 2 more games this year that place will be a huge dumpster fire.  A shitload of seniors will be leaving (not necessarily a bad thing) and anyone decent will hit the portal.  How will they be able to recruit there?  The stadium won't be done and they will most likely be playing at Scheels soccer complex because that's the only place that will give them a contract to play there.  Not to mention LL and his wife already hate the place.  If you didn't see LL's presser please go take a gander.  The dude looked like he slept in that nasty KU shirt, was unshaven and looked like he smelled worse the hoboes that walk up and down Mass street.  I'm guessing he's on a 24 hour bender.  It's only a matter of time before one of them get nabbed by the Lawrence police for who knows what.
Fifteen minutes later, when the Kansas locker room opened its doors to the media, the Jayhawks were still crying. Literally, bawling. All of them. I've never seen anything like it, and I've seen devastated college locker rooms -- after losses in the Final Four, the national championship game -- ever

Boys, this one stings  :frown:

It really put a damper on their playoff chances that's for sure.  They're probably only going to be able to lose one or two more games to still have a realistic shot.

And then there's Goff, the football savvy AD that was going land them in a Power 2 conference with his adroit expertise that tied Light pole with a big long-term contract and rolled the dice on stadium renovations with the thought this season would have investors storming the gates, I guess. Now he looks like an idiot who couldn't evaluate coaching talent and is overseeing a shitshow at the most scenic site of college football. Well, at least the Allen renovations went well.
