FAKE!!!  No KU Squawk runs around in mid-winter without their adorable KU garb on.
ua
Do they actually expect to be ranked in preseason polls? Not saying they won't end up ranked, but that seems a bit of a reach considering they ended with a losing record and lost 7 for their last 8. K-State won 8 in 2021 and wasn't ranked preseason, for example.

Well they return their stud qb and we lost our future nfl playoff starting qb. This is the same brain that decides not to root for the cats in the elite 8 because he didn’t have a boner for the coach

You dorky, loser, dim-witted Oscar boi. Preseason voters knew we had 9 am and more preseason all-conference players than any team in the Big 12, but still didn't put us in the top-25, which proved to be an oversight. I know you are all giddy with the Cats loss today, but i you're so confident KU is going to be in the top-25, I'd eagerly agree to a wager against it.

I didn't really follow where oscar ended up coaching after the cats. Is there a chance we will play against his new team in the tournament?

Apparently they’re also going to use another $35 million in Covid Relief money.

$85 million dollar head start provided by the taxpayers.

I’m embarrassed for you TSC bro KU.

Kind of hoping KU keeps Porta Potties in the stadium reno, for nostalgia and all.

I was under the impression that the "stadium renovations" was like offices, some new facade, but the real project was an office building adjacent to the stadium.

what are the actual stadium improvements that they are doing?

Planned improvements to the stadium are in line with what KU has previously disclosed. They include redesigned seating with improved sight lines; expanded concessions; additional restrooms; more accessible seating; improved concourse circulation; and more types of premium seating, including club seats and more suites. Not sure how radically different, if at all, it will end up looking, as a rendering has not been made public.

Per Leipold's contract, renovations to the Anderson Football Complex have to begin within the next few months, and renovations to the stadium itself have to begin by some time in December, if I'm recalling correctly.

He's the new Matt Campbell. If he wins 5-7 games next year, someone will want him. He needs to do better than that 3 years from now or people will stop caring.

Also, I've always thought people using the term "poverty program" was really dumb.... but I mean, this is it, right?

Against the landscape of the long running narrative that very firmly stated that it would only take a few phone calls/texts and hundreds of millions of dollars would be flowing in to cover all the costs of the eventual stadium renovation at KU.  This news is indeed very strange.

I predict that it will once again turn into yet another amalgamation of weird money trails, back door deals and events that will require repeated FOIA requests in order to get any semblance of what actually went on.  The financing buckets could be multi-fold:  Private funding, KU Endowment, Kansas Economic Development, AARPA money and possibly even additional bonding.  The only thing missing is the fake Enron trading floor.  The only question is, which KU donor sends his company into financial ruin and/or which KU administrator ends up in Federal Prison?
