I do kinda like some of their uni-combos. Wish the Cats had more uni-combo options.

Uh oh....   :frown:

Architect renderings of the project initially were expected to be unveiled sometime in September. But though a September reveal still remains in play, it’s now possible the designs might not reach the public eye until October, a KU official told the Journal-World.

Found this little gem in the comments section:

Refurbish the orginal outside concrete and make it look like it did when first built.

I fully agree.  Memorial Stadium deserves to be restored to the 1920's glory era of concrete.

they are scared of another gridiron club fiasco so they are getting multiple rendos in different prices ranges and timelines. they will choose whichever bid fits their early season momentum.

a couple games against MAC teams will decide a lot about the next decade of hawk football.

The few members left on the phog are blaming each other and Zenger for not being able to find enough couch cushion money. Their continual meltdown is a gift that just keeps giving.

for the last time, ku football is not hurting.  they're back and it's time we get used to it.

Back? When did they ever arrive?

Someone should probably tell Zenger that you can't say football has been priority since day one then you go and do a bunch of other stuff. No way any other program was in worse shape than football at KU, facilities or otherwise

 .

One anomaly followed by another 12 years later signifies nothing. They have never arrived. When they start sustaining success then you can have an argument. But not until then

I've said it before, I've followed facilities projects for years.   This is the most protracted odyssey I've ever witnessed.

Lots of schools not exactly kicking ass have done large projects.  Iowa State made over and expanded their stadium and they haven't done anything lately.

But I suppose that Zulu had to make sure the taxpayers stepped up and built KU that sports park.  Before he could do anything at the football stadium.

Wasn't it 2007 when they had their great season? Idk, it was too long ago for anyone to really remember.

Yeah, again like i said, you can't say football upgrades have been priority #1 for 6 years and then literally make every other project a priority over football. I can't believe Zenger keeps repeating that and expects to be believed.

I do think KU gets some upgrades done, primarily the indoor facility. But $300 million is just such an outrageous number to throw out and still be not totally clear about what renderings you like. Just seems pretty daunting and with such crappy support, even with some big donors throwing big long term pledges at it i cant imagine this isnt a rather drawn out affair.

Also feels like typical KU, trying to skip all sorts of steps, like ya know, having a tangible product to sell, not just a hope and dream Beaty is gonna make them awesome
