this argument for the Big 10 is .......
So long as Ohio State and Michigan are elite, and teams like Michigan State, Nebraska, Penn State, Iowa and Wisconsin keep things interesting, the last thing the big 10 wants is another football power. If anything, KU's football program is attractive because it offers easy wins for the football schools but historically also shows the capacity to be successful with proper coaching.
And as I stated above, they are weak on the basketball front and could use another elite program. Aside from Michigan State, and Indiana's past, you have 12 college hoops nobodies in that conference.
Holy crap what a post! Stay awful at football, better chance to get into big 10!

Also weak at basketball? Wisconsin is in the sweet 16 almost every season. Ohio St. has been really good the past 10 years as well. Wisconsin, Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana, and Ohio St. have all fielded decent teams of late.
