Mangino earned the right to have an ego. He was a successful football coach who turned lemons into lemonade.

Lew was a fat, corrupt, incompetent POS who epically-failed with his Gridiron Club and hired Turner Gill to a guaranteed $10 million contract on his way out the door.

Mangino was essentially a 500 coach except for his first year and 2007 so it is easy to twist his record in whatever direction you want. Considering he had crappy facilities until his last year and a poor stadium, 500 might be the best you could hope for.  But his ego and Lew's ego post Orange Bowl just got out of control.

All you Mangino fans do remember that Hungry Man absolutely squandered his Orange Bowl success, right? He did not capitalize at all on the Orange Bowl win with any kind of recruiting bounce. The cupboard of talent was nearly bare even before the Turner Gill debacle.

I would take kstate football program in a second. They have been competitive and in every game to the end. I would die to see KU football where kstate is at now. It seems light years away

I love the reported 25,000 fans that braved a nice autumn October Saturday for a homecoming game with Texas Tech. KSU will bring 25,000 to the game on Nov 30th to Lawrence. On and off the field, I wish KU had the passion for football that KSU has. Harley Day in Manhattan? Why cant there be a Harley Day in Lawrence? That really hurts me to say that being a KU fan.

According to taters, he's almost illiterate.   Can't follow the playbook.  He could remain eligible at KSU, but not here.

That is an absolutely superb quote right there.

But they suck total crap worse than any team in conference history when playing that song.

Weis is great.

Weis added: “We went into the game figuring we were gonna punt the ball a whole bunch.”

This emoticon is the best way to describe what Charlie has and will continue to do to KU, it's fans, boosters etc.

 :comeatme:

I don't know why, but this post really got me laughing.  We need to get Charlie's face on that thing.

ku football:  From the Orange Bowl and "Lew is Building a Monster" to 24 consecutive conference losses (and the one win in there was because of utter incompetence by the other coaching staff).

KU football will never be great, we all know that. the best part is KU is GREAT at basketball and Kstate doesn't excel at anything....and Kstate thinks they are good at football. "2013 Kstate football: First to Worst."

Actually now that I think about it, better first to middle of the pack, than first to worst, or even worst to worst (<---ku you are here)
