I saw this stuff before Rustoleum started pimping it. I think it was called Ultra Ever Dry. My big question is how long does the coating last when subjected to abuse. I think it would be tremendous for use in concrete chutes to keep the mud from sticking and not sliding down if it could take the abrasion from aggregates.

Read some reports of folks putting it on hunting/hiking boots and it not lasting very long. It's just a thin layer of silicone or something like that, doubt there's much bonding that takes place.

I bought some of this stuff the day it came out. It works, but it makes the surface stiff and grimey feeling. I put it on the bottom of a deck chair cushion to see what it would do. It works exactly how they said it would, but it looks like crap.

Also, I have some net running shoes I put in on the back of. Again, it works fantastic, but it made my purple running shoes look like very fogged over.

They need to resolve the frosted color issue, but even then it drastically changes the feel of what it goes on. I haven't used it on anything else yet, but am planning on doing more this fall. I am building a backyard shed this fall and will treat the bottom 1' to 2' of all the studs and sill plates and probably the bottom edge of my siding to help prevent rot.

We used this on a pretty large project recently to keep a large concrete wall with signage formed into it clean. The commercial grade stuff comes with a pretty stellar warranty, so I'm guessing it lasts quite a while.

Does the commercial stuff dry clear? Supposedly Rustoleum says that the clear will be available at Home Depot in the next year or so. I assumed it was a processing issue that they haven't caught up to yet, but maybe it is a demand issue in not being able to meet anything other than the commercial demand yet?

Yeah. You can tell it has a coating of something, but it's clear. Almost like a shellac. I'd agree about the demand. Probably throw cost in there as well.
