Okay, how about this jt?
Cornell offered him a scholie/ton of aid that essentially took care of school. It was assumed he would wrestle. Will, where ever he went, was going to compete (in either football or wrestling - that has never been in doubt). In fact, my guess if Weis had shown even moderate interest in Geary to just walk-on, he would be in Lawrence (his family has strong ties to KU athletics over the years).
In the end, Geary chose KSU and walking-on over wrestling.
Now, technically, Cornell may not be cheating. You know, because they realized Will was going to be involved in athletics where ever he went. Just as when other Ivy League schools make similar offers to kids who are considering the Div-II or FCS route at other schools, but then opt for them.
